Spring is here and the sun is coming out! One of our favorite ways to celebrate the return of warm weather is with a delicious drink on the patio. Make yourself a Mango Margarita or a Sunrise Beer, and toast to blooming flowers and longer days.

Strawberry Brûleé Cocktail

  1. In a highball glass, add the strawberries, lemon juice, passion fruit juice, and cointreau, then muddle. Add ice to fill ¾ of the glass, then add the silver tequila. Cover with another glass, and shake for 3 minutes.
  2. Fill a glass with ice, and pour the mixture through a strainer into the glass.
  3. To make the garnish: Cut each strawberry in half, coat with sugar, and use a very hot spoon to brûlée until caramelized. Peel the sugar from the strawberry.
  4. Place the brûlée on top of the drink and the plain strawberry on the rim. Ready to enjoy!

Aloe Mojito

Directions:

  1. Extract the pulp from the aloe vera, removing the outer layer with a knife. Set aside.
  2. Add the aloe vera pulp, honey, mint, and lime juice to a highball glass and muddle for 1 minute.
  3. Add ice to taste, pour in the rum, and top with sparkling water. Serve with a sprig of mint and an aloe vera leaf to garnish.

Mango Margarita

  1. Dip the rim of an old-fashioned glass in the grapefruit slice to moisten, then dip into tajin to fully coat the rim. Set aside.
  2. Blend frozen mango, ice, lemon juice, orange juice, pineapple juice, and tequila until you get a slushy consistency.
  3. Pour the slush halfway into the glass. Add the passion fruit pulp, and top with more slush. Garnish with a dehydrated grapefruit slice. Cheers!

Dried Flowers Ice

  1. For the ice cubes: Place the dried flowers in a silicone ice mold. Add water to cover and freeze for 4 hours, until solid.
  2. In a shaker, combine cranberry juice, simple syrup, lime juice, and gin. Shake until well mixed.
  3. Place the dried flower ice cubes in a rocks glass. Strain the cocktail in, and finish with a splash of tonic. Garnish with a sprig of thyme.

Sunrise Beer

  1. Remove the cap from the beer and pour out a small amount. 
  2. Place a funnel or piping tip in the mouth and add the tequila, orange juice, and grenadine syrup. Cover the opening with your finger and shake carefully to mix. Add the lemon slice, and enjoy!

Bougainvillea Gin & Tonic

Directions:

  1. Place the bougainvillea flowers in the gin, and let it steep for at least 48 hours until infused. Set aside.
  2. Brush corn syrup along one side of a rocks glass, and cover with edible purple flowers.
  3. Pour ice into the glass and add the bougainvillea infused gin. Top with tonic water and enjoy!

Directions:

  1. Heat the jar of blackberry jam in the microwave or in a double boiler until it liquifies.
  2. Pour in the gin, simple syrup, lemon juice, and ice. Screw on the lid of the jar and shake to combine. Add a sprig of thyme, and serve right in the jar!
