All Starbucks fanatics have been in this situation before: you’re in need of a major pick me up, so you decide to order a Venti hot drink. But sadly, it leaves you just as buzzed as a Grande. How can that be? Doesn’t a Venti have more caffeine in it? As a former Starbucks barista explains in a 2017 Business Insider article, the Venti-sized hot drinks actually have the same exact amount of espresso in them as the Grandes. So, what can we do to up the ante?
Tall hot Starbucks drinks contain one shot of espresso and both Grande and Venti hot drinks contain two. No more, no less — unless asked for. However, Venti-sized iced drinks contain three shots. If you’re in desperate need of all the caffeine, your best bet is to order your drink on ice.
Why does a Venti iced get an extra shot of caffeine and a Venti hot doesn’t? An iced Venti drink is actually 4 ounces larger than a hot Venti drink. Therefore, an extra shot of espresso is needed to cut through the extra milk, syrup, and ice. Of course, if you’re really in dire need of caffeine, you might as well dive into an iced Trenta, which caps the list at 31 ounces.
The same barista also added that Caramel Macchiatos are not meant to be stirred, but sipped in the order that they’re constructed.
Furthermore, the barista said they were shocked to find out how many pumps of syrup go into Starbucks drinks. Tall drinks get three pumps, Grandes four, Venti hot gets five and Venti iced gets six. And when a customer orders two flavors in one drink, they get double the syrup.
And although we like to believe there’s a secret menu, the barista said there’s no such thing. Unless they’re lying to keep the secret a secret.
This Snickerdoodle Macchiato sounds divine. Give us all the Cinnamon Dolce syrup.
Like we said — all the Cinnamon Dolce. This Coffee Cake Frap is another must-try.
We clearly love a good Starbucks hack more than the next person, which means we basically live on the r/starbucks Reddit page. There, you kind find some amahzing drink hacks like this one for people who love the taste and caffeine benefits of Starbs, but hate the full feeling after gulping down a Tall.
And of course, this may just be the best Starbucks hack ever. Take notes, kids.
This is definitely more of a parent/life hack. Good thinking.
Look, not to brag, but a parenting life hack is that I memorized my kid’s teachers’ Starbucks orders so that days like today when I am bringing in cupcakes to amp the kids up on sugar, they forgive me 😂

Some people like their coffee so hot it's undrinkable for nearly 45 minutes. I don't.

So, one of my favorite Starbucks hacks: Order your drink "kids temp" and it will come out hot, yet immediately drinkable. Enjoy.
With the influx of Starbucks hacks, baristas are definitely on to us. So, let’s be respectful with our hacks and not make our barista’s lives any harder than they have to be.
as a barista the Starbucks life hacks actually offend me? lmao like y’all really think all of us are that dumb that we don’t know what you’re doing when you ask for a grande drink in a venti cup
