It’s officially Pumpkin Spice Latte season, which means you might want to break out your Uggs. Autumn is upon us, and Starbucks chose today — August 28th — to reintroduce one of their most beloved seasonal beverages. But that’s not the only drink that’s coming back.
If you’re already over the PSL, you’ll be happy to know that the Salted Caramel Mocha drink is also available to order. Haven’t had it before? Well, now’s the perfect time to give it a shot. The drink includes mocha sauce and toffee nut syrup, and includes both milk and espresso. Like all of the best drinks at Starbucks, it’s topped with whipped cream. But unlike most other offerings, this one also includes caramel and a blend of sugar and sea salt. According to the Starbucks site, the drink was created to help customers “Enjoy the flavors of fall in every sip.”
Just by the looks of it, the Salted Caramel Mocha is pretty much dessert in a cup. It might be hard to enjoy other caramel products after giving it a sip!
According to the Starbucks-themed website Countdown To #Redcups, the Salted Caramel Mocha first came out in the U.K. back in 2012. They also state that it’s pretty enjoyable in the winter, which gives it a bit of an edge. Yes, pumpkin flavoring is great, but it’d be odd to taste it during a January snowstorm.
Of course, both flavors have their benefits. And the good news is that the fall season (unofficially) just started, so you can give both of them a little bit of attention as you say goodbye to summer.
Did you know that Starbucks has a rewards program? By joining Starbucks Rewards, you can get free food and drinks (and even free refills!). You can even order and pay for your favorites on your phone. Cheers!
