Starbucks’s Mango Dragonfruit Refresher Drink Was Made For Summer, And Is Unlike Anything Else On Their Menu

Though the first day of summer isn’t officially until Thursday, June 21st, temperatures are making us think otherwise. With it being hot enough to melt our popsicles, all we want in life is an ice-cold beverage that will keep us cool when the sun is trying to make us lose our cool. Fortunately, Starbucks is commemorating summer with a brand new iced drink, and it looks as pretty as it does tasty.

Not to be outdone by Taco Bell, who created a drink that literally looks like a watermelon, this drink from Starbucks also celebrates the fruits of the season. Called the Mango Dragonfruit Refresher, it’s a vibrant magenta color thanks in part to the actual red-fleshed dragon fruit used to concoct it. While it’s being unveiled during a time when the weather is exceptionally hot, it’s actually expected to be on the menu permanently — so yes, you can fall in love with it without worrying about having it vanish by fall.

The drink is officially available as of June 19th. According to People, it doesn’t contain artificial colors or sweetener, meaning it’s a beverage you can feel good about. The site also suggests asking your barista to swap out the water for coconut milk, making the beverage creamy.
