Starbucks’s New Bicerin Drink Is For Serious Coffee Drinkers Only

It’s no secret that Starbucks has a knack for creating deliciously decadent drinks. And even if you’re a local coffee shop kind of person, you simply can’t deny their insane ability to churn out caffeinated beverages. Starbucks has made everything from Cherry Mochas to Cloud Macchiatos, and that’s just scratching the surface. As of today, March 12th, the coffee giant released a new layered drink that will give you cavities just thinking about it.

Starbucks Reserve’s new Bicerin drinks are made of espresso, chocolate sauce, and crema.

In other words, it’s an actual dessert that folks with a sweet tooth will love. Bicerin — which is pronounced “be serene,” by the way — is available in chocolate and pistachio.

Each coffee drink consists of a layer of chocolate sauce followed by smooth and rich cream made of nonfat milk.

When espresso is poured on top of the crema, it ends up between the chocolate and crema.

Essentially, it’s Starbucks’s version of the traditional Italian espresso drink “bicerin.”

It’s important to note that the addition of espresso makes the chocolate syrup taste a bit like hot fudge.

(Coffee science, am I right?)

And to make the Pistachio Bicerin, a pistachio-flavored crema is used instead. Ultimately, if you have a major sweet tooth, the Bicerin beverages at Starbucks might very well be your next obsession.

For the time being, the new Bicerin drinks are only available at Starbucks Reserve locations.

This includes the Starbucks Roastery location in Seattle.

It’s available in the Starbucks Roastery in New York, too.

You can also find the drink at the Starbucks Reserve location in San Francisco.

Last but not least, the Bicerin drink is also available at the Starbucks Reserve SODO store.

Between the chocolate syrup and crema, the beverage is basically dessert.

But Starbucks is no stranger to dessert drinks.

Unicorn Frapp, anyone?

This is great news if you love super sweet drinks.

If you love nuttier flavors, the Pistachio Bicerin might be up your alley.

In Italy, bicerin is traditionally made with drinking chocolate, espresso, and whole milk.

The decadent drink is native to Tulin, Italy.

Sometimes, people use chocolate ganache instead.

This version of the drink might be too sweet for us.

Or perhaps it’s just sweet enough?

Whipped cream in place of milk works well, too.

Needless to say, the new Starbucks drinks aren’t for everyone.

But if you’re all about sweet treats, we think you’ll love this beverage!

And who doesn’t love sweet treats?
