Sorry, but we just can’t stop laughing about Ariana Grande’s hilarious food tattoo fail. Last week, the “Thank U, Next” singer attempted to get a tattoo in kanji that was supposed to read, “7 Rings” — the title of her latest single. However, the tattoo unfortunately didn’t say that. It sadly translated to “Japanese BBQ grill.” And despite her effort trying to fix it, the tattoo still doesn’t say “7 Rings,” and probably never will. It now reads, “Japanese BBQ finger.”
“Slightly better,” Grande wrote over a photo of her “fixed” tat, which she posted to her Instagram Story on January 31st. “Thanks to my tutor for helping me fix and to @kanenavasard for being a legend. and to my doctor for the lidocaine shots (no joke). rip tiny charcoal grill. miss u man. i actually really liked u.”
The sad part is that Grande probably should have kept her tattoo the way it was. Sure, it was a silly mistake that could have easily been avoided — “7 Rings” was written correctly in kanji in her own music video. But that extra character pushed her farther down the rabbit hole. And the people of Twitter are not lending her a helping hand.
Just when I thought I could knock off work Ariana Grande goes and gets her tattoo “fixed”. Have to go off and write an article about this now... 👩🏻💻#ArianaGrande #七輪 #七指輪 #tattoo #7rings pic.twitter.com/Kf9ZSx178Q

Many of us just want to be a part of the BBQ grill club. We stand in solidarity.

Although, some club members decided to get their tats in their own language. You know, in order to avoid a translation snafu.

Some of us have decided to pay tribute to our other favorite kitchen utensils and tools. Love the font of this tat.

Aww — this subtle and cute “rice cooker” tat is just as sweet as Ari’s BBQ grill tat. Love that cursive.
Ahem… this one is also a slang word for penis. This tattoo reads, “Ochinchin.”

And this tattoo does not read “samurai” (侍). It instead reads, “ji” or “hemorrhoids.”
Got me tatt.

Roughly translates as "Lucky Rebel" pic.twitter.com/BcMcSiMS2X
These fake tattoos are a hilarious reminder that another language should not be an aesthetic. Because chances are, you’re going to look silly if it ends up being spelled wrong.
We only laugh because we know Grande doesn’t take herself too seriously. In fact, she recently posted a snapshot of her “7 Rings” co-producer’s hand to her Instagram Story. It looks like he got the same “lil grill” tattoo.
I see it. I like it. I want it. I grill it. #七輪
