Captain Marvel’s (AKA Brie Larson’s) Diet Will Probably Blow Your Mind

Brie Larson is everywhere these days, and it’s easy to see why. She kicked major butt in Captain Marvel, one of the few movies with a female superhero fighting the battle against evil. She’s also the epitome of a strong and fierce woman, and we are so here for it. And as you can imagine, she also took on some intense physical training for her role as Captain Marvel.

This included a smart approach to nutrition, just like any fitness routine should.

According to an article on Popsugar, it started with blood work. Her trainer, Jason Walsh, shared that this was completed by a registered dietitian, who also happens to be an MD.

By doing blood work, they can understand how a person’s body works and create an appropriate nutrition plan from there.

It also just goes to show that there isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach to healthy eating!

In order to fuel her workouts, the Brie Larson diet included a lot of carbs.

Obviously, when you’re training for a movie like Captain Marvel, you need a ton of energy to power through. So, Jason upped Brie’s daily caloric intake and had her eat lots of carbs. This ensured that her body had enough energy (in the form of glucose) to kick butt during training.

And since Brie was also building muscle, her body could do a better job at processing carbs.

Remember, glucose is your body’s first source of energy.

Your brain and body need carbohydrates to function properly.

To top things off, muscle stores glucose in the form of glycogen.

When you work out, glycogen breaks down and fuels your body with glucose.

That’s why it’s crucial to eat carbs after a workout.

You need to replenish those energy stores, especially if you plan to keep on training.

The more energy you have, the more you can get the most out of your workout.

Carbs also help your body absorb protein, too.

Besides, all carbs aren’t equal.

Complex carbs like brown rice will give your body sustainable and long-lasting energy.

These carbs take a long time to digest…

Which a lot of people don’t realize.

Refined carbohydrates, like white bread and white pasta, don’t take long at all.

They will give you a boost of energy… and a sugar crash, too.

So, let’s stop demonizing all kinds of carbohydrates.

Carbs literally helped Brie get through her hardcore training sessions.

It’s crucial to note that she wasn’t put on a restrictive diet, either.

With all of this in mind, we bet this was a tough match:
