Miley Cyrus Shut Down Pregnancy Rumors By Using The Instagram-Famous Egg

Even though they’ve been back together for years,Miley Cyrus and Liam Hemsworth’s wedding still took fans by surprise. Why? Well, because everyone only gathered it even happened based on photos that circulated afterward. Also, the event was beautiful in a low-key way — it looks like the celebration took place at someone’s house. In one of the photos we saw, Cyrus looked lovely and happyin her simple off-the-shoulder dress. In the same image, we noticed the couple were about to cut into their understated wedding cake. (Banana pudding in cups was also involved)!

While we were only given a glimpse into the couple’s private life, tabloid publisher The Daily Mail decided to take things a step further and declare that the newlyweds are now expecting… based on a photo of Cyrus.

It’s not too off-base, but with pregnancy rumors like this, you’re always flying in the danger zone (for women, especially). If they happen to look bulky or drink a bit too much water that day, bloat can lead to reports that there’s a baby on board. That bloat, plus a surprise wedding, suddenly makes people feel as if she’s totally having a girl and due any day.

Luckily, Cyrus handled the criticism like a pro and addressed the rumors head-on. And she did so in a way that called back one of 2019’s best memes so far — the egg.

You may remember the egg (it’s Instagram stardom went viral a few days ago), but if not, here’s a brief summary. In short, it’s a photo of an eggthat was set to beat Kylie Jenner’s most popular Instagram photo. And it did, even egg-ceding egg-spectation. (Sorry — had to).

Cyrus obviously heard about this world famous egg and chose to loop it in with her big reveal that she’s not currently pregnant.

In general, this should be a big lesson and learning experience for publications everywhere. Until you hear it directly from the source or someone who’s legitimately representing the source, maybe you shouldn’t run with false headlines.

This could have been painful for Miley Cyrus if she’s been trying to have kids and has been unsuccessful. Or maybe Cyrus is simply not ready and doesn’t want her identity to be reduced down to whether she’s pregnant or not. Pregnancy is a sensitive topic. While the world loves babies (especially a Cyrus and Hemsworth baby) lets leave these two alone.

Surely Miley Cyrus will tell us the big news when it actually happens — if and when she’s ready. Or maybe she won’t. And that’s totally okay.
