The Cupcake Dress Trend You Didn’t Notice At The 2019 Oscars

The stars were thinking pink at the 91st Academy Awards last night, February 24th. So many celebs took to the red carpet dressed in head-to-toe pink, we felt as though we had stepped into Candy Land. You may not have noticed the pink Oscars 2019 dresses trend during the show, but we’re happy to recap for you.

As is true for most spring and summer seasons in the fashion world, pink is in.

And spring/summer 2019 is no different. Pantone assembled a palette based on the designs and colors seen at New York Fashion Week earlier this month.

Along with greens, oranges, tans, and browns, pink is going to be huge come springtime — and this year, the bolder the pink, the better.

Although blush and pastel pink will probably never go out of style, designers and trendsetters are casting their eyes toward fuchsias, bubblegum, and blazing corals for spring/summer 2019.

And we saw all three and more at last night’s Oscars.

You may want to grab your fave pair of sunglasses before checking out the cupcake dresses from last night’s event. They’re brilliant, dazzling, striking, and vivid, to say the least. Needless to say, we’re definitely feeling the need to put some pink into our own wardrobe.

Angela Basset is ~queen~ in this Reem Acra piece, complete with a pleated shoulder detail. That train though.

Oscar-winner for Best Supporting Actress Regina King wore a breezy coral Monique Lhuillier gown to the Vanity Fair Oscars Party after the show.

Both King and her dress are major winners.

Sarah Paulson’s woolen silk wrap dress from Brandon Maxwell is so unique.

And that color? Phenomenal.

Helen Mirren, who is slated to play Catherine the Great in 2019, matched Paulson in a Schiaparelli Haute Couture pleated pink dress.

We love the mix of fuchsia and blush pink.

Crazy Rich Asians’ Gemma Chan dazzled in this ruffled hot pink Valentino number. And yes, it has pockets!

Our “yeehaw queen” looks like Glinda the Good Witch in this baby pink Giambattista Valli Couture tiered gown.

Note the matching wrist ruffles.

Hello ruffles! Hello cape! Maya Rudolph rocked a bubblegum pink Giambattista Valli outfit.

Kiki Layne’s custom Versace is like perfectly sculpted fondant. That bow is everything.

Timeless elegance perfectly describes both Julia Roberts and her buttery Elle Saab asymmetrical dress.

Is Roberts even a real human?

Riverdale’s Madelaine Petsch was blushing in this Paolo Sebastian piece at the Vanity Fair Oscars Party.

This dress is like a wedding cake and we love it.

Michelle Yeoh looks like a fairy godmother in this sparkling Elle Saab creation. Blush pink is hot, hot, hot.

Green Book’s Linda Cardellini rocked a fuchsia Schiaparelli Haute Couture gown that looks like a dressing robe on steroids. Sometimes you just have to go all out.

Hailey Steinfeld wore a coral floral Elle Saab dress to the Vanity Fair Oscars Party after last night’s show. Spring is certainly in the air.

Maude Apatow stepped out to the Vanity Fair party in a drop-waist Huishan Zhang number. Loving that off-kilter skirt ruffle.

This poofy Marchesa gown is like a work of art on Lily Collins. And the flowers in her hair are a perfect accent.

Model Winnie Harlow strutted her stuff in this lilac-pink puff of a Monsoori dress. Regal AF.

Keep the pink coming.

These cupcake dresses are getting pinned to our spring inspiration board, stat.
