Weird Breakfasts Celebs Swear They Actually Eat

We think it’s safe to say our breakfast habits are fairly normal. We like our avocado toast, our eggs, and of course, our large cup of coffee. However, some of our favorite celebrities like to think outside the box when it comes to breakfast. Like, way outside the box. We’ve compiled some of the strangest meals celebrities eat at breakfast, and not to rain on your parade or anything, but you might look at your favorite celeb a bit differently after reading through this list.

It’s true that some of the famous people who have diets worthy of this list are eating “weirdly” because they’re adhering to a special diet. Sorry to break it to you, but Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson didn’t get so buff eating bagels and cream cheese. But others are eating strangely because they want to. Cynthia Nixon actually likes lox with cinnamon raisin bagels. Um — ew!

Okay, we apologize. We’re not here to breakfast shame. These celebrities — like the rest of us — are free to eat whatever breakfast foods suit their fancy. We’ll try our hardest not to judge, but it’s proving difficult to move past Bagelgate, Cynthia. It really is.

Would you try any of the below celeb breakfasts?

1. Kylie Jenner Use to Start The Day with Häagen-Dazs

Billionaires eat ice cream before breakfast.

Before switching to bacon, avocado slices, and well-done scrambled eggs for breakfast, her big sis Kendall Jenner revealed Kylie would often eat Häagen-Dazs for breakfast followed by pomegranate seeds.

While this has got to be one of the strangest breakfast combinations, it wasn’t too long ago we learned Kylie hadn’t tried cereal with milk until last year, so are we really that surprised?

2. Rihanna Eats Toast Without the Crust.

This pop diva is all about loading up on protein and mixed berries.

It’s not shocking how healthy her first meal is, but we’re so curious what about the crust on toast offends her? Is it a calorie thing? Texture? I guess we’ll never know for sure. She pairs this dish with hot water and lemon.

Something to note is a lot of her meals are inspired by her Caribbean roots, so it’s not uncommon for Bad Girl Riri to also treat herself to plantains, bananas, mangos, or Carribean calaloo first thing.

Her personal chef has called her a “moody eater” in the past, but aren’t we all?

3. Shailene Woodley’s Bone Broth

[fm_youtube url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sqiQbQxcsWI"]

Shailene Woodley told David Letterman in 2014 that she sips bone broth — that being a broth made by boiling animal bones for more than 24 hours — in the morning.

It supposedly helps with “leaky gut” and irritable bowel syndrome.

Woodley also admitted to eating clay in order to flush out the heavy metals in her system.

4. Marilyn Monroe’s Raw Eggs in Warm Milk

In 1952, Marilyn Monroe told Pageant Magazine all about her odd eating habits. “I’ve been told that my eating habits are absolutely bizarre, but I don’t think so,” Monroe said. She continued:

“Before I take my morning shower, I start warming a cup of milk on the hot plate I keep in my hotel room. When it’s hot, I break two raw eggs into the milk, whip them up with a fork, and drink them while I’m dressing.”

5. Nicole Kidman’s Odd Coffee Request

During Vogue‘s 73 Questions interview, the Big Little Lies star admitted her coffee order was quite quirky.

She likes her coffee with “lots of froth and lots of chocolate sprinkles.”

“Keith and I love coffee. I love the foam more than the coffee,” she told People. “I will go and order a cappuccino and say, make it all foam and very little coffee. They know me now at the Starbucks in Nashville.”

6. Jennifer Lopez’s Counterclockwise-Stirred Coffee

Word on the street is that Jennifer Lopez only drinks her coffee if it’s been stirred counterclockwise. We’re not sure if there’s much truth to that, but it’s a fun and harmless rumor that adds to her mystique.

7. Jennifer Lawrence’s Pizza

We all know that Jennifer Lawrence has had a long-standing romance with pizza since, well, forever. And sometimes the actress also dives into some ‘za in the morning.

8. Warren Buffet’s Coca-Cola

“If I eat 2700 calories a day, a quarter of that is Coca-Cola,” Warren Buffet admitted to Fortune in 2015 (he was 84 years old at the time). “I drink at least five 12-ounce servings. I do it everyday.”

Buffet, who owns $16 billion in Coca-Cola stocks, pops open his first can at breakfast time and admits he loves to pair his Coke with Utz Potato Stix.

She told The Sun in 2016, “I don’t even think you can call it guilty pleasures, the way I’ve been eating lately. The other day I had pizza for breakfast, buffalo wings for lunch and pizza for dinner.”

9. Nancy Pelosi’s Chocolate Ice Cream

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi starts her day with dark chocolate ice cream in lieu of coffee. In 2017, she told Food & Wine, “I’ve been eating dark chocolate ice cream for breakfast for as long as I can remember.

I don’t see it as different from having a cup of coffee.” Respect.

10. Jessica Biel’s Shower Sausage

[fm_youtube url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHbrQC-vGfo"]

Okay, yeah. That sounds wrong. But Jessica Biel literally eats her sausage while in the shower. In 2017, she explained her “mom” eating habits to Jimmy Fallon of The Tonight Show.

“This is just mom life,” she said before sharing that she takes her breakfast plate into the shower with her to multi-task on a whole other level.

Sausage is a great shower food, according to Biel.

11. Elvis Presley’s Five Hot Fudge Sundaes

According to What the Great Ate per Business Insider, Presley could down five hot fudge sundaes in a single breakfast sitting.

His diet was far from healthy, and probably contributed to his untimely death at age 42.

12. Tim Tebow’s Buttered Coffee

The football star turned baseball player told Delish in 2015 that he drinks his morning coffee “bulletproof” style, which means he adds a pat of butter to his cup. Tebow also mixes caffeinated coffee with decaf. “I don’t want that much caffeine,” he said.

Tebow then stirs in “a tap of heavy organic whipping cream,” butter, unsweetened almond milk, a couple drops of liquid Stevia, English Toffee flavor.

Sure, there’s a bit of an oily film on top of the coffee, but it tastes great, he said.

13. Gwyneth Paltrow’s Moon Juice Smoothie

You knew Gwyneth would pop up on this list eventually, didn’t you? As outlined on Goop, Paltrow whips up a smoothie every morning with several special ingredients.

She adds vanilla mushroom protein powder, organic cold-water extract powder of the ashwagandha root, USA-grown cordyceps mushroom powder, and Moon Juice moon dust (each one is designed for a different aspect of one’s life).

Everything gets blitzed together in almond milk and almond butter.

14. Chrissy Teigen’s Late-Night Cereal

Chrissy Teigen satisfies her late-night sweet tooth with a breakfast cereal mashup: Fruity Pebbles and Cap’n Crunch. She calls the concoction “Cap’n Pebbles.”

15. Sofia Vergara’s Teeny Espresso

You’ve never seen an espresso that small before — it’s basically served out of a creamer cup.

Vergara sipped her espresso while dining on Cuban pastelitos, which are pastries stuffed with cheese, guava, pineapple, and coconut.

16. Taylor Swift Enjoys Buckwheat Crepes

The singer loves a big breakfast, which fits her incredibly active lifestyle.

Her signature morning meal? She uses deli ham, parmesan cheese, and eggs to make some delicious buckwheat crepes with a fried egg on top and a glass of OJ (according to WebMD.)

Wow, this sounds so good!

17. Cynthia Nixon’s Cinnamon Raisin Bagel with Lox

[fm_youtube url="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V7NxeiF5e3c"]

Yup — and there’s video footage to prove it. Gothamist recorded former New York gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon ordering a cinnamon raisin bagel topped with cream cheese, lox, red onion, capers, and tomato.

She reportedly likes the “sweet and salty” taste of the combo, but TBH, we think we speak for everyone when we say this mashup is just wrong.

18. Scott Foley’s Scrambled Eggs with Peanut Butter

In 2017, Scandal’s Scott Foley urged Instagram followers to “Give [scrambled eggs with peanut butter] a shot. Seriously.” Um, no. No thank you.

19. Yvonne Orji’s Scrambled Eggs with Maple Syrup

Foley isn’t the only one who likes an unconventional scrambled egg dish. Insecure’s Yvonne Orji sat down for breakfast with Healthyish in 2017 and ordered eggs with wild mushrooms, shallots, and herbs, a side of avocado — and a side of maple syrup.

She also throws a bit of Tobasco sauce on there for good measure.

20. Dwayne Johnson’s Energy Drink Powders

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson doesn’t drink coffee like the rest of us caffeine heads.

Instead, he relies on fruity-flavored powdered energy drinks to get his caffeine fix. He then downs 10 to 12 ounces of roasted potatoes, an 8 to 10 ounce grilled sirloin, and 4 to 6 scrambled egg whites, as he told People in 2016.

21. Giada De Laurentiis’s Oatmeal and Olive Oil

Upon releasing her 2013 cookbook, Giada’s Feel Good Food, The Food Network’s Giada De Laurentiis told PopSugar that one of her favorite breakfast meals is oatmeal with olive oil drizzled on top.

She said, “[it’s] the simplest thing on the planet, but again one of my favorite things to have for breakfast.”

22. Lo Bosworth Eats Salad

The Hills alum is all about the greens.

“I actually love to have salad for breakfast,” Bosworth told Us in May 2019. “I did a poll about this on my Instagram the other week to see how many other people enjoy having salad for breakfast, and only 18 percent said that they did. But I really do. When I wake up I’m craving vegetables that have a lot of water content.”

Specifically, she enjoys veggies from the night before, cucumbers, nuts and a soft boiled egg. We’re starting to wonder if she’s ever tried a doughnut.

She’s not alone, John Legend does the same thing.

23. Ali Fedotowsky Eats Pasta

The former Bachelorette star told Us, “I could never give up pasta. Pasta to me is life.” So much so, that she eats it at sunrise! “I make it every single morning.”

“By eating it in the morning, I can burn it off all day,” she reasoned, adding her preferred preparation is angel hair with vegan butter and parmesan cheese, she added.

Her other go-to? “I always also take a shot of grapefruit juice before I eat it.”

We can’t tell if its hunger we’re feeling or queasiness. Perhaps we’ll just stick to our regular old coffee until this wave of upset blows over.
