This Chicken McNugget Engagement Photo Shoot Is Making Us Feel Weirdly Emotional

Pretty much everyone in America has some kind of fond memory of McDonald’s. To have positive childhood memories of McDonald’s is like 80% of the company’s marketing strategy. Even as an adult, it’s hard not to associate McDonald’s with happiness (even though deep down you know you should be eating more salads, but hey, we’re in a judgement-free zone here). So when we saw that one couple opted to include Chicken McNuggets in their engagement shoot, we understood! And when said engagement shoot went viral, we also understood. It’s McDonald’s. It’s love. It’s a very lovely couple. What’s not to love? Plus, the photo shoot is just straight-up goofy, and you need some playfulness when planning a wedding. Because wedding planning tends to get very serious, very fast.

Much like the couple that had their shoot at their local Target, Canadian couple Brett and Steph wanted to incorporate something common yet meaningful in their photos. They went so far as to take photos where the stunning engagement ring was mixed in with a 4-piece box, and never before have a box of McNuggets sparkled as bright.

The couple chose Katie Marie Photography for the big moment, and they chose well. Just weeks ago, Katie Marie Photography made the news for a totally different shoot, after a picture of a groom in a wheelchair sobbing over his beautiful bride went viral.

It just proves that Katie Marie has a ton of versatility. She can make us cry, and she can make us, well, hungry.

It’s such a good thing that so many couples are stepping out of the box for their engagement shoots. But seriously, Katie Marie might have shot the next McDonalds ad with Brett and Steph, so we hope McDonald’s sees these delicious pics.

Never before have McNuggets made me feel so emotional before. Brett and Steph just proved that McNuggets symbolize true love.

Can you imagine what their vows will be like? I can imagine something like, “I’ll run to McDonald’s for you when you’re too tired after a long day at work” might be in there. Or maybe, “I love you more than I loved the comeback of Szechuan sauce.”

At least McDonald’s can offer to cater the wedding, right?
