This Is What Dessert You Are, Based On Your Life Path Number

life path number dessert

You already know and love astrology — zodiacs, horoscopes, birth charts, the whole deal. But what about your life path number? Instead of analyzing the stars, life path numbers look at the holistic study of numbers to help people understand the significance of different numbers in their lives. To determine your life path number, you have to add the digits of your birth month, day, and year (first adding double-digits to create a single digit), until you’re left with one single number. It’s somewhat confusing at first, but here’s an example:

If you were born on July 15th, 1987, this is what you’d add up: 7 (July is the seventh month) + 6 (add the digits in 15: 1+5=6) + 7 (add the digits in 1987: 1+9+8+7=25=2+5=7). Your initial number would be 20, until you add the 2 and the 0, making your life path number 2. Not too hard, right?

Your number comes with certain traits, strengths, and weaknesses that may translate into your personal life. And since there are so many numbers involved in who you are, it’s important to remember that multiple life path numbers can apply to you. But until we all become experts, we’re sticking with just the one number. And because we’re all about food, we’ve figured out which desserts relate to each life path number (it goes from 1 to 9) — something we all obviously want to know. Once you’ve added up your birthday info, take a look to find out which dessert you actually have a lot in common with.

Number 1

Black Sesame Ice Cream

Number 1 is the ultimate creator — from it, so many new things come to light. It’s willing to try anything new, and is super individualistic and somewhat rebellious. Black sesame ice cream is definitely one of a kind and strays from the norm, but it also helped propel a slew of food trends. The 1s in your life show confidence and courage, just like this imaginative and powerful dessert.

Number 2

Shortbread Cookies

A 2 tends to be underestimated — its resilience and gentle nature always lack the recognition it clearly deserves. If we weren’t talking about numbers, I would definitely assume this was a description of shortbread cookies — strong yet soft, and seriously underrated. Both the cookie and the number 2 require some hard work and patience to understand and nurture, and both are certainly worth it.

Number 3

Molten Lava Cake

This number is incredibly expressive and creative, but still requires much-needed guidance. It also craves attention, but can easily crumble down. Molten lava cake is such an artistic kind of cake, but it takes a good amount of skill to pull it off — to make it the star of the show it deserves to be. Otherwise, just like the number, it’ll just collapse into a sad, chocolate mess (unlike the number).

Our favorite recipe:

Number 4

Scones with Jam and Clotted Cream

Traditional, humble, and devoted are the main identifiers of the number 4. Sometimes overlooked because of its regularity, it is always satisfied by recognition. The oh-so classic, but beloved, English scones with jam and clotted cream really fit the number 4 mold — they’ll always be there for you, but try not to look past how capable they are, despite being labeled as average.

Number 5

Cayenne Pepper Truffles

Number 5 is the most energetic and dynamic of the life path numbers. Always willing to take risks, the number 5 is adaptable but very polarizing. Think of a plain chocolate truffle, spiced with some fiery cayenne pepper — you’ll get the food version of number 5. Both are versatile, but can definitely be a little too extreme for some.

Number 6

Banana Pudding

Characteristics of a 6 revolve around maternal qualities: loving, caring, harmonious, and family-oriented. They tend to get taken advantage of and hone in on small details that really make a difference. Just like a cozy banana pudding at mom’s house — one bite tastes like a hug and you can always feel how much love is in each spoonful.

Number 7

Rustic Grape Tart

Lucky number 7 also happens to thrive off of eccentricity and obscurity. It has a wild imagination and tends to question the meaning of life (where we come from, how we got here, who we are, etc.). In many cultures, it’s lucky to eat grapes (specifically during New Year celebrations). Assembled into a rustic tart, it seems like a dessert that isn’t on many people’s menus.

Number 8

Tiramisu

The most balanced of all the life path numbers is 8. It can be perceived as power-hungry, when it really just craves balance between its strength and thoughts. And since organization is also crucial to an 8, what better dessert to match it than a tiramisu? The evenly layered cake requires strength and planning to hold up, and it’s a dessert that absolutely must be balanced, or else it would simply falter.

Number 9

Flan

A 9 is the most worldly of all the numbers — it is understanding and accepting of differences between people and other cultures. The number 9 has exceptional depth, but is either loved or hated by those around it. A classic flan, which has different cultural adaptations, truly embodies this number. It’s sophisticated, and not everyone finds the dessert enjoyable, but most people still tend to be curious about what a flan involves.
