Entertaining So Yummy

9 Bizarre and Different Soda Flavors

People go crazy for their soda! It is a delicious and refreshing beverage that seems to always quench your thirst.

Soda (or pop for some) is a beloved drink with a bunch of different flavors. You can get it with sugar or without, caffeine or caffeine-free, there are different brands and always new flavors.

Here we will look into some of the strangest soda flavors, and we will discuss what made people decide to either make or drink this particular flavor.

So sit back, grab an ice-cold soda pop, and let’s open up this can! Cheers…

1. Pepsi: Salty Watermelon Edition

Pepsi always finds a way to top their last edition. Here we have a salted watermelon flavor that was introduced in Japan only in 2012, and did not have a very long time spent in grocery fridges.

2. Dr. Browns: Cel Ray Soda

Dr. Brown’s is an iconic soda that you typically see in delicatessens. The Cel-Ray flavor was introduced first as Dr. Brown’s Celery Tonic in 1868 in Brooklyn, New York. It wasn’t a bottled soda until 1886, but Dr. Brown’s is always a good choice and the Cel-Ray is loved by many.

3. Bacon Soda

Made by Jones Soda and J&D’s Down Home Enterprises, this bacon-flavored drink does not actually include bacon, and weirdly enough is vegetarian. So for all you bacon-loving vegetarians, enjoy!

4. Jones Soda Special Release: Turkey and Gravy

Here we got another strange Jones Soda, but they always outdo themselves as well with the special editions. Here we have a “Thanksgiving” edition. Gobble gobble!

5. Jones Soda: Blue Bubblegum

Looking for bubblegum, but in a bottle? Well look no further! Here we have another Jones soda, this one is a bit more iconic. Blue Bubblegum is one of their top flavors and offers a delicious bubblegum taste.

6. Lester’s Fixins Food Sodas: Ranch Dressing

Ranch nation, rise up! This is as bizarre as it gets, but yep, it’s out there. Feel free to give it a try if you are a major ranch-lover.

7. Grass Soda

This one is outright WEIRD. Made by Rocket Fizz, this one really pushes the envelope. If you are for EARTHY flavors however, why not give this one a try.

8. Curry Soda

So once again this is a bit bizarre, but if you think about it, it’s really just adding a spice to a soda. Introduced in Japan in 2017, and is based on the Ramune Curry.

9. Barf Soda

This one hurts the soul. It’s safe to say this is not a popular soda or one you would even be able to find in a typical store, but it certainly can be found online or a speciality soda shop.

Looking in the Fridge

We took a look at some of the most bizarre soda flavors, and we certainly don’t recommend any of them, but they are definitely interesting to learn about! Stick to the classics!
