Celebrities always seem to be doing something weird and completely out of the norm, all while acting like it’s no big deal at all. It’s hard to say what goes on in their mind all the time — maybe all of that fame and fortune makes them feel like they can get away with doing whatever they want? Whatever the case, we all can’t help but follow along as they reveal all of their strangest habits.
One of the things we all love hearing about stars is how they eat. We can’t get enough of hearing about what they snack on, what they enjoy eating when they go out to a restaurant, what their biggest splurges are, and how they handle the wackiest of all diets. And we really love hearing about the gross things they’ve done with food, even if it is kind of disgusting. Here are some examples of times celebrities have done something seriously gross with their food:
A few years ago, Chrissy Teigen did an interview with Delish about her daily eating habits. In typical Teigen fashion, she had to make a few jokes — and we hope this was one of them! Teigen said she loved Doritos, adding,
While some people laughed it off, others felt it was making light of disordered eating. She later had to defend herself by saying she was only kidding and wasn’t trying to promote eating disorders.
I saw it: On the 08 campaign, flight attendants delivered a regular supply of jalapenos to @hillaryclinton in the front cabin. #peppergate

According to one former aide, Hillary Clinton is basically obsessed with spicy foods. The aide said, “During 2008, there was not a day or a minute that went by that we didn’t have a full plate of raw jalapenos. She ate them like potato chips.” Now that one definitely sounds painful!
CHANNING TATUM'S favorite sandwich is PEANUT BUTTER & JELLY WITH CHEETOS! WHICH WEIRD SANDWICH COMBO DO YOU LOVE? pic.twitter.com/ZxEJ8m6tbg

Tatum did a Reddit AMA where he answered a bunch of fan questions. One asked him what his perfect sandwich was, and he explained, “Bread, white. Peanut butter, not crunchy, creamy. Grape jelly, double portion, more than you think should actually fit on a piece of white bread. Bread. And then some Cheetos shoved in there, and then you’re good to go.”
What a combination!
In a 2016 interview with Glamour, Jennifer Lawrence revealed her “greatest food invention,” and it doesn’t sound so great to us. She explained, “It’s called a chili pizza sandwich. You have a piece of pizza, you put chili in it with noodles, like southern chili with noodles, and then another piece of pizza, and then you eat it like a sandwich.” Taste-testers online confirmed that it was just as awful as it seems like it would be.
And what’s better than that perfect mix of chocolate and peanut butter together? Apparently, Kourtney Kardashian isn’t a huge fan of that mix. In a video on her old app, Kardashian shows how she eats a peanut butter cup:
It’s too much work!
We can probably all agree that we love pickles, but Selena Gomez takes it to a new level. In an older interview on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, Gomez explained one of her favorite snacks, which she called Texas-style popcorn.
She mixes a bag of unsalted popcorn with salt and Tobasco, then drizzles on some pickle juice. Uh… not exactly something we’d love to try.
The Big Little Lies star is known for doing some pretty unconventional things, but one that took the cake was when she admitted she had eaten clay before. In a post for Into The Gloss, Shailene Woodley said, “clay is one of the best things you can put in your body.”
She said, “So, I’ve discovered that clay is great for you because your body doesn’t absorb it, and it apparently provides a negative charge, so it bonds to negative isotopes. And, this is crazy: it also helps clean heavy metals out of your body.” Definitely something to talk to a doctor about before you try it!
Well, not so much, according to Jessica Alba. The star told Delish a few years ago that she adds pink Himalayan salt to her water. She explained, “I actually have low blood sugar and low blood pressure, and I get very woozy if I don’t have enough salt.
I need to have salty water or I’ll have coconut water.” That sounds pretty awful.
Foley practically broke the internet when he posted a video in 2017 where he was spreading peanut butter on his scrambled eggs. And on his kid’s scrambled eggs! After fans freaked out, Foley posted again, saying, “You guys are insane — insane. It’s so good. Don’t knock it till you try it. Thanks! Peanut butter eggs. Dig it.”
In one interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Liam Hemsworth admitted that one night he ate 45 White Castle burgers and then vomited them all back up (because of course he did!).
White Castle offered to donate $20,000 to a charity of his choice because they were so impressed. Yikes? Or yay? It’s hard to say.
The football star told Delish that he mixes half-regular, half-decaf coffee with “a tap of heavy organic whipping cream,” a little bit of butter, some unsweetened almond milk, and a few drops of liquid Stevia, English Toffee flavor.
He insists it is “a little bit like a milkshake” and says “it really kickstarts your day. It’s fantastic.” We’ll take his word for it.
It’s basically a given that pregnant women can experience some really weird cravings, but some are definitely more disgusting than others. In an interview with The Insider’s Lara Spencer, Berry revealed that when she was pregnant, she craved really salty foods, especially pepperoncinis. She added,
The juice?! Sounds kind of horrifying.
Still, if you’re not used to it, eating those things can sound pretty horrifying. During an appearance on Live! With Kelly and Michael, Hale tried two unconventional foods:
She ended up saying about the tacos, “I actually enjoyed these.” Can’t relate!
Back in 2015, Ariana Grande caused a stir when she was caught on video licking a donut in a public shop. The video, shared on TMZ, showed Grande appearing to reach out and touch her tongue to a donut. She then jumped up and down laughing. When an employee arrived with a full tray of donuts, Grande said,
She later apologized for it, but that doesn’t change the fact that it was both incredibly odd, and very gross.
Catherine Zeta-Jones: brushes her teeth with pureed strawberries to whiten them!
— Celeb Beauty Tips (@CelebBeautyTips) March 31, 2013
Catherine Zeta Jones doesn’t seem to agree. She once said that in order to whiten her teeth naturally, she purees 1-3 strawberries, and then mixes them with a half tablespoon of baking soda. She brushes her teeth with that mix, then follows up with regular toothpaste. It almost sounds painful?
It just seems odd! Celebrity chef Giada De Laurentiis doesn’t think so, though. In an interview with Delish, she explained one of her go-to breakfast options: “A 1/4 cup of brown rice in the morning, with some olive oil. I do put a lot of olive oil in it, I’ll be honest.
I hate to say this, but I like it swimming in olive oil.” We’re not sure what is worse: all the olive oil, or the fact that she’s eating it in the morning.
