This Cheater Exposed Himself In Burger King’s Comments Section

We follow the social media account of fast food restaurants in order to stay up to date on their menu changes, in-store promotions, and upcoming new items. And yes, sometimes fast food joints get into online fights and wars to stir up a little drama for marketing purposes (Wendy’s and Denny’s Twitter account are too sassy for their own good). However, it’s rare that personal dirty laundry is aired out via fast food social media accounts.

So, you can imagine our surprise when we got our daily fill of relationship drama from a showdown in the comments section of the Burger King Instagram account.

Yes, sadly some poor idiot exposed himself as a cheater in the comments section of a 2017 Burger King Instagram post, and it’s still one of the funniest fast food-related faux pas we’ve ever witnessed.

This tale is one that is filled with drama, intrigue, and mystery, and is still a bit boggling to this day. And if you have yet to bite down on this whopper of a story, we’re so glad to be the ones to finally serve it to you on a classic Burger King plastic tray.

The day began like any other.

On January 11th, 2017, Burger King re-posted a photo of their classic breakfast sandwich from an Instagram user named @edgar4president.

The caption read, “Be the breakfast you wish to see in the world.”

The photo, with its lens flare hitting the steam from the hot BK coffee just right, inspired us to take on the day and perhaps stop by Burger King on our way to work in order to grab one of those delicious sandwiches. Little did we know that this beautiful piece of photography was the catalyst for a relationship-ending argument.

The first comment.

An Instagram user, who then went by @jordan_vonsmith86, but has since changed his handle to @f1_follies, was one of the first followers to comment on the post.

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

@jordan_vonsmith86 claimed that his “girl” took 20 minutes to order at the BK drive thru the night prior.

But damn, were those Whoppers worth it. Seems like an innocent enough post, right?

“Uhm, excuse me?”

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

It turns out that his “girl” and his girlfriend are two separate people.

“I don’t recall going last night or ever liking Burger King who are you talking about?” another Instagram user, who goes by @shanlee_rose commented back. She added, “@jordan_vonsmith86 answer your f#$%ing phone.”

Her replies got well over 100 likes because people were sensing this was about to get good.

Then, the friends got involved.

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

@shanlee_rose got her gal pals in on the drama.

“Fucking knew it,” @shanlee_rose’s friend, who used the handle @shari8212, commented back. Her other friend, @89tenavi, added,

“I told you I saw him with a girl at rogue one.”

Once the girl gang get involved, it’s over for y’all.

He tried to backtrack.

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

@jordan_vonsmith86 tried to act as fast as he could.

He claimed that he was “catching up” with a friend, who used the Instagram handle @kitcass01.

We can’t remember when it became okay to call a friend you’re catching up with “your girl,” but, he tried!

Then, @kitcass01 was dragged through the mud.

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

Acting out of anger, @shanlee_rose called @kitcass01 some nasty names.

To be fair, @kitcass01 didn’t *really* bring herself into this fight. @jordan_vonsmith86 did. But we suppose it’s too late to argue that point.

@shanlee_rose didn’t drag it out for longer than necessary.

Regardless, shaming women is never okay.

Blaming the other woman or person is often easier for someone than accepting the blame is on their partner.

There are even websites of “wronged” wives and girlfriends devoted to posting photos, painful details, and even the names and addresses of women they say cheated with their men.

A lot of media outlets have called out sites, like She’s A Homewrecker, for fostering hate among women, cyberbullying, slut-shaming and letting the cheating husbands off the hook, according to NBC.

But we get it, @shanlee_rose was over her lying ex’s behavior.

“Hope the whopper jr’s were worth it,” she commented back, tagging @jordan_vonsmith86. “Your shit’s outside.”

Unfolding a breakup, like this, for all to see can be unhealthy.

According to psychiatrist Scott Haltzman and marriage and family therapist Sheri Meyers, you should be aware of a few things before exposing a cheater.

“It’s inadvisable because you don’t know enough about the individuals involved to understand the circumstances behind it and you may not be able to identify the risks to either you or the person being exposed,” he told Huff Post.

“For instance, if the spouse of the person having an affair engages in domestic violence, you could be setting up that other person to be at risk.”

“Alternatively, if the spouse has an angry streak and can track you down, you could be setting yourself up for being at risk,” he advised.

Who would have thought so much drama could go down in the comments of a Burger King post, huh?

But it doesn’t end there.

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

Well, perhaps the relationships did end there. But the saga didn’t.

A lot of people who watched the battle go down had to question its validity.

How the heck did @shanlee_rose see that her boyfriend had commented on Burger King’s post?

Does she have some sort of weird post notifications on?

And what’s more interesting…

Upon further investigation, it appears that most of the Instagram accounts involved are very suspicious.

@shanlee_rose / Instagram

@shanlee_rose, a.k.a Shannon Boyd, for example, to this day only has nine followers.

And her gal pals “Brittanie Jacks” and “Shari Walton” are also only followed by five and three people, respectively.

@89tenavi / Instagram

This doesn’t bode well for the validity of the fight, does it? Hm…

@shari8212 / Instagram

Maybe they just use their Instagram to keep tabs on @jordan_vonsmith86? We don’t know!

What’s even worse is that @jordan_vonsmith86 is a completely different user than he was in 2017.

@jordan_vonsmith86 / Instagram

In fact, that username has been completely wiped from Instagram’s system.

The new account that is linked in the comments, @f1_follies, is a photography account.

The account’s first photo was posted on January 10th, 2017.

And the last post was uploaded that same day. Perhaps someone was trying to make this account look real?

With each post barely receiving any likes, we can only assume that this was just a burner account created for this joke fight.

Although, some people held out hope.

Could someone really orchestrate a five-person fight in the comments section of a Burger King post?

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

Sadly, it seems so. And that person has a lot of time on their hands.

Do it for the ‘gram, right?

Eventually, the internet sleuths decided this was all just a ruse.

@burgerking / https://www.instagram.com/p/BPIRgbrBmEG/

After doing some quick Catfish-style reverse image Googling, one Instagram user realized that this BK breakup was a big hoax.

“Their pictures are all found on Google images,” they wrote. “Still funny tho.”

Honestly, we give this person an A for creativity.

This back-and-forth will go down in Instagram history.

It may not be real, but damn.

We had a good time reading it.

And, hey — we think we can all learn a lesson from this.

But sometimes it’s hard to know if you should keep the information to yourself?

While this was definitely a hoax, finding out your partner is cheating through social media is actually pretty common.

Since these comments are pulled from Reddit, we cannot guarantee their credibility. But, after reading these stories of how cheaters got caught, from listening to audio messages to TK, the ways people discovered their partners’ infidelity are all tied to social media slip-ups.

This partner found out her boyfriend was in Hawaii with another woman.

“He texted me from Hawaii saying that he was living there for two months. Lost his job and was working for cash over there living in a tree house. Found out through instagram that he was there for two weeks – with his girlfriend. I had dated him on and off for years and this was the first time I caught him in a lie. I sent her, and his mother an email with the texts he sent me. “I’m in Hawaii, I have someone to cuddle with but it’s not the right person,” she wrote.

“Yeah. I was pissed,” she concluded.

This man found out his girlfriend of six years was cheating through a photo of a damaged car.

Redditor GeneralPurpoise said, “”My story is something out of a futuristic horror show: [My girlfriend] of six years went out of town with a couple of her girlfriends for a weekend. I decided to check her profile to see if she posted any new pics or whatever and noticed that this one guy liked almost every status she posted. He never commented.”

Like an suspicious partner, he wanted to know who this man was and why he was liking on all his girl’s pictures.

“I was just curious who he was because she never mentioned him. His profile was mostly private, but he had a couple pictures and statuses that I could view. Just figured it was a classmate or something (she’s in law school) until I scrolled upon a picture that stood out: It was a pic of his parked car that a [hit-and-run] driver smacked into overnight while street-parked.”

“I almost kept scrolling when something hit me — the background of [the] picture gave me a weird feeling.”

“His car was parked on the street that I recognized because of the brick roads that we have downtown. Upon closer inspection, the reason I recognized it was because it was right outside my girlfriend’s house,” he wrote.

The ending is pretty sad, though.

“When she got back … eventually she broke down and confessed she’d been cheating for a year. It turned my life inside out … It’s just so weird because … if the picture was taken a foot closer to the damage, I’d have never known,” he revealed.

An unknown sender’s email

Redditor vutrongkien2471989 claims her husband’s mistress found her and her ex’s wedding pictures after a Google search.

She wrote, “I got an anonymous email from the other woman.”

“She said she wanted to let me know she just found out that the man she’d been seeing for seven months was married, with a new baby, and that she was terribly sorry but that she had broken it off. She said she had no idea. She found out he was married by searching his name online. Our wedding picture had showed up in my university’s alumni wedding album.”

“Then she searched my name online, found out where I worked, and called asking for me.”

“They told her I was out on maternity leave with our second child. Kudos to this woman for doing the right thing. I think of her often, especially now that I’m enjoying life more without him,” she added.

A tracking app revealed she was at her ex’s house

This man found out his partner wasn’t at home or work. Instead of spending time with him or their children, she was at her ex’s home.

“Ex worked a night shift and I worked day shift so I’d wait for her to come home (so kids wouldn’t be sleeping alone) and one night she just didn’t show up … pulled up a tracking feature to find out she’s at her [ex’s] house … ”  — Redditor Sea_BassC

This story got a lot worse.

“She came home a little later after texting / calling her constantly with some extra news saying he got her pregnant,” he wrote.

What a wonderful night.

This cheater was caught by his daughter.

“I caught my dad cheating on my stepmom because he said he wanted to listen to music on my headphones …. I come to find out after a little bit of snooping on his phone, [that] he was sending audio messages to girls so his wife couldn’t read the messages,” according to Redditor ticketmummy.

The most upsetting part of this is, he almost got away with it.

Unfortunately for cheaters, people have no qualms exposing their former partners on the internet or in public for their infidelities.

This bride went viral for teaching her blasting the groom for cheating by ending it at the alter, in her wedding dress.

As in the case of a bride, who found her out her soon-to-be-husband’s racy text messages to another woman the night before their big day.

According to her essay, which was published by the Australian news site news.com.au, she and her fiancé, had been dating for six years.

As she was surrounded by all her friends on the eve of her wedding, she got a text that changed everything. An unknown number had sent her selfies of Alex with another woman, along with screenshots of some of the texts he had sent her, ending with a simple question: “I wouldn’t marry him. Will you?”

The messages were awful.

One included, “Your body is [so] incredible. And [boy] do you know how to use it. I wish my GF had half the skills you do.”

According to MSN she said, “Every word like a dagger in my heart.”

Instead of calling her fiancé, as her friends suggested, she put on her gown and walked down the aisle.

Once it was time for the vows, she turned to all of their friends and family members and said,

“There will be no wedding today. It seems Alex is not who I thought he was.”

Then she took out her phone and read the text messages and read his other woman’s texts aloud.

“With each word, more color left Alex’s face,” she wrote.

Through tears, she looked at her fiancé and exposed his behavior.

Then, she told guests, “I love all of you and as horrible as this is I’m glad you all are here.”

“There will not be a wedding reception today, but instead, there will be a celebration of honesty, finding true love and following your heart even when it hurts.”
