Okay, be honest. Raise your hand if you’ve ever asked a food service worker for a water cup with the intent of filling it up with soda. It’s the one not-so-secret fast food hack that everyone has tried at least once. But after this story, you might not want to test the water cup hack ever again. A McDonald’s employee got into a physical fight with a customer who reportedly put soda in her free water cup and ouch — that’s going to leave a mark.
It’s not clear if the fight was actually about a water cup/soda scenario or not. The audio isn’t exactly understandable in the multiple versions of the video that are now circulating around social media. The original video of the fight was posted to Instagram and Facebook yesterday, July 26th, but has since been taken down. Several re-uploads have gone viral — with one upload garnering over 4 million views in under 24 hours.
According to Delish, the fight began as a simple shouting match between customer and employee. Then it escalated to a food fight — the customer first throws a french fry at the employee, and later a milkshake. Things then got more violent when the customer hit the employee in the face with a tray, causing the employee to retaliate.
McDonald’s owner and operator, Brent Bohn, responded to Delish’s request for comment on the situation, stating via email, “We do not condone the behavior depicted in this video, and are currently investigating.”
Yo that McDonald’s fight should be a warning to how y’all treat us in the food industry. Don’t let the uniform and good service fool ya.

It’s hard to place blame when both parties seemingly stepped out of boundaries. We’re anxious to see how McDonald’s will handle the employee in question.
