McDonald’s Is Adding Bacon To Their Burgers And Fries In 2019

It feels like this day should have come a long time ago. As of January 30th, 2019, McDonald’s will offer menu items made with — drumroll please — bacon. Are those angels singing or are our ears just ringing from our screams of excitement?

That’s right, people. This is not a drill. For a limited time, beginning at the end of the month, McDonald’s customers will have the freedom to order a Big Mac Bacon, a Quarter Pounder Bacon, and Cheesy Bacon Fries. Heck, get all three in the same order. This is what pure joy tastes like, and it’s salty.

Chef Michael Haracz, McDonald’s manager of culinary innovation, said in a January 9th McDonald’s press release, “People love bacon, and they love our iconic Big Mac, fresh beef Quarter Pounder burgers and World Famous Fries, so we had to see what would happen if we combined all that tastiness. As a bacon enthusiast myself, I’m proud to say that we’ve done right by bacon fans and I can’t wait for our customers to try these Classics with delicious, thick cut Applewood smoked bacon for themselves.”

Oh man, we can hardly wait.

For each new menu item, McDonald’s simply slapped some delicious bacon atop the famous classics. It doesn’t get much better than that.
