The best part about McDonald’s is that they like to shake things up with their menu in a way that gets customers talking. The worst part about McDonald’s is that sometimes, these menu shake-ups are only available in other countries. So before you get excited about the new pie that the fast food giants have unleashed, just know it’s sadly not available in America. Yet, at least. McDonald’s recently tested out a bunch of overseas menu items in Florida, which means Americans might be able to try it eventually. So think positive. Especially because the pie in question is called the Salted Caramel & Chocolate Pie, which, yum. If you live in Malaysia, you can try it out now.
If you haven’t tried salted caramel yet, just know that you’re in for a treat. The flavor seems to have had a popularity spike in the last few years. And since caramel and chocolate is a winning combo, it’s hard for this pie to fail. Delish reports that the pie will be around throughout October, meaning it’s a limited-edition item. The McDonald’s in Malaysia is also reportedly dishing out salted caramel McFlurries. I can tell you, if those made it to America, they’d be an instant hit.
Maybe it’s a good thing that Americans can’t taste it just yet. We’re so fond of the apple pie that it’d be a little disheartening if it got knocked down from first place. Plus, luckily, there are plenty of ways to satisfy our desires for a salted caramel and chocolate combination dessert. Just check the ice cream aisle at your grocery store for a quick fix.
