McDonald’s Created A Purple Sweet Potato Ice Cream In An Oreo Cone — Here’s Where To Get It

Ice cream comes in all types of colors and flavors — but as far as soft serve is concerned, vanilla and chocolate are still the most common. Maybe not so much…purple ice cream. Or sweet potato ice cream. However, McDonald’s decided to change the game and offer up a soft serve ice cream that breaks all the rules. Like, for one, it’s purple, meaning that it will likely make your Instagram followers stop and stare. To add even more pop to its lilac hue, many customers are getting it served in a black cone.

The flavor of the ice cream is sweet potato — and the black cone tastes like Oreos. Maybe not the matchup you might have expected, but it’s safe to trust the creative minds behind the McDonald’s menu. They did create the Big Mac and some of the best fast food desserts, after all.

Now, here’s the bad news — as of right now, this ice cream treat is only available in Hong Kong. Hong Kong is great already — with vacation-worthy spots to visit such as the clock tower in Tsim Sha Tsui and Hong Kong Disneyland — but perhaps with the addition of sweet potato ice cream, you might be inspired to confirm it as your next travel destination.
