Panera Bread Is Coming For Starbucks With Their New Drink Items

Between the insanely intense heat and the long, sunny days that make up the month of August, it’s easy to forget that the end of summer is approaching sooner than we all think. With the end of one season comes the beginning of another, which means that fall is actually just around the corner – even if it seems like the cooler weather is never going to arrive. And that means that some of our favorite fast food places are already hyping up their fall menu items, which is exactly what Panera Bread is doing right now.

Not to rush through the summertime season or anything like that, but it’s hard not to get excited for autumn days when you hear about the delicious items Panera is going to be selling. Their announcement has also happened to come shortly after news outlets started wondering when Starbucks would reveal the release date for their infamous Pumpkin Spice Latte. Coincidence? Maybe, but probably not!

Panera Bread has just announced four new menu items, all set to launch for this coming fall.

Two of these items are coffee drinks, and the other two are little bakery treats. They all have something to do with cinnamon (and they all sound delicious).

The first new drink is the Cinnamon Spice Cold Brew. According to Bustle, this is cold brew coffee flavored with half and half and cinnamon, and it’s served over ice.

Cinnamon and coffee are always a great mix, and this one sounds like it’s perfect for those in-between fall days. You know, the days where the weather is cooler than the summer, but not quite cool enough for a steaming hot beverage.

The other new drink is the Cinnamon Spice Latte. It sounds equally awesome, but it’s hot instead of cold.

The Cinnamon Spice Latte is a drink made up of espresso, foamed milk, and cinnamon flavor. To add a bit more sweetness, it’s then topped with whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon. This one is ideal for those seriously chilly autumn days.

These two cinnamon coffees are the perfect antidote for anyone who is sick of the standard autumn drinks that come out around this time.

Seriously, it’s kind of marketing genius for Panera to announce these as everyone speculates over Starbucks’ fall menu. Plus, these two new Panera drinks are a great option for someone who wants to get into the fall vibes, but doesn’t want pumpkin flavored coffee, which is kind of nice!

As for the treats, they sound equally awesome. One is an Apple Pie Thumbprint Cookie, and even just the name sounds amazing.

While we don’t know the exact details about this new cookie, we’d have to assume that it’s similar to the Raspberry Almond Thumbprint Cookie they have on the menu now. That one is an almond cookie with a dab of raspberry jam and a dusting of powdered sugar – and the Apple Pie one sounds like it could be even better, to be honest.

Lastly, there’s the Cinnamon Apple Scone. This one would obviously pair perfectly with any of the cinnamon drinks.

Again, we don’t know the description for this one, but it seems easy enough to figure out. It’s probably similar to their Cinnamon Crunch Scone, but we’re assuming there’s more of an apple flavor in there. Maybe little pieces of apple instead of cinnamon chips? Sounds likely – and awesome.

If you can’t wait to order these, don’t worry, because you don’t need to wait too much longer.

According to Bustle, the four new fall menu items will be hitting stores on Monday, September 9. That’s only about a month away, which is great news!

Meanwhile, there are plenty of menu items to be excited about right now, from Panera and other chains.

Yes, we’ll be counting down the days until the release of these newest flavors, but until then? We’ll be enjoying what’s out there now, from both Panera and other fast food chains.

Just in case you can’t wait a month for these new cinnamon flavored treats, Starbucks has a new autumn flavored item out now.

It’s the Pumpkin Spice Latte Creamer, which is a little different. Instead of a coffee drink you can order made for you at Starbucks, it’s a creamer you can pick up at the grocery store to use at home on your own. And it’s available now!

But if you’re now craving cinnamon, Panera still has you covered with a few options to hold you over. They’re not drinks, but they’ll do for now!

In the bakery department, Panera sells a Cinnamon Crunch Scone, a Vanilla Cinnamon Roll, and a Cinnamon Crumb Coffee Cake. These are all available now so you can munch on them while you wait for September 9.

But cinnamon in your coffee? That option definitely has a lot of fans, and we know they’ll be excited about this launch.

Especially anyone who loves their Cinnamon Crunch Bagel. A classic, to be honest.

So, in conclusion… sorry summer, but bring on fall! We can’t wait.
