Pizza Hut Just Changed Its Name, And People Can’t Stop With The Jokes

When one becomes ~the official pizza of the Super Bowl~, one must celebrate — by trolling the entire country. Pizza Hut earned said crown for the 2019 Super Bowl, and to mark the occasion, the chain temporarily changed its named to Pizza Hut Hut. Yes, as in hut, hut, hike. And now Pizza Hut is the one being trolled.

“It’s the biggest day of the year for the NFL and the biggest day of the year for Pizza Hut,” Pizza Hut’s chief brand officer, Marianne Radley, told Nation’s Restaurant News on January 22nd. The company expects to sell more than 2 million pizzas during the Super Bowl.

Although it seemed like Pizza Hut was simply making the punny change on its website and social media handles, an Atlanta, Georgia location was spotted with an extra “Hut” added to the end of its sign. They’re taking this joke pretty seriously.

The Hut replaced Papa John’s as the “Official Pizza Sponsor” of the National Football League in February 2018. The team has since dove head-first into updating their brand and driving home the fact that they deliver. In some states, the Hut even delivers beer.

The Hut Hut may not be here to stay, but nevertheless, it’s causing quite a stir on social media.
