Uber Drivers Reveal The Weirdest Foods That Have Been Left Inside Their Cars

It’s not often that major companies like Uber attach significance to the celestial movements, but when they do, we’re here for it. As a way of recognizing Mercury Retrograde, Uber released its third annual Lost and Found index, which lets us peek into the wild and wacky world of forgotten-in-the-backseat Uber items.

So, what’s this got to do with Mercury Retrograde?

Mercury Retrograde refers to the appearance of a planet moving backward in the sky. Although it’s not actually moving backward, it looks that way because the Earth moves faster than Mercury. So, it’s an illusion.

It happens to all the planets, but since Mercury is the planet associated with communication and technology, it’s thought to be a time when people have communication and technological problems.

Ever hear someone say, “My email never sent!” or “I got into a miscommunication with my BFF!” during Mercury Retrograde? That’s why.

People are super forgetful during this time, too, so it’s no wonder people leave crazy stuff in the backseats of their Ubers.

In addition to all the keys, phones, wallets, and cameras people forgot, people also leave food. Yep, you heard that correctly — food. Like, lots of very weird food.

Via Uber, here are the 25 most ridiculous food items included:

  • A chicken drumstick
  • A small plush toy of a cat eating a pizza slice
  • Garlic bread
  • Platter of sushi rolls
  • Boxes of Franzia
  • Lifetime supply matcha card (pink and green)
  • Turquoise flask with flower stickers on it
  • Veuve Cliquot Champagne
  • Taco Bell apron and seven pork tacos
  • Coconut shrimp
  • Corn beef in a can, a salmon head
  • Frozen corn dogs and Sour Brite candy
  • A large popcorn maker
  • Small Lush Chocolate Lip Scrub
  • Chocolate
  • Painting of an ice cream cone
  • 24 pack of Miller Lite and a carton of ice cream
  • One pound of Starbucks decaf coffee
  • Crab steamer in trunk of car
  • Dr. Pepper can in a Minions Koozie
  • Tuna cans and relish
  • Two mustards and two green peppers
  • Poke bowl leftovers
  • Two metal skewers with neon green handles for campfire marshmallow roasting
  • Five candy covered apples, one container of cookies and one roast beef sandwich slide

Looks like these two are about to forget their large popcorn maker. Be careful!

But it’s not as bad as forgetting a living animal. You know, like a dog.

So who takes the cake (get it?!) for the most forgetful?

East Alabama; Gallup, New Mexico; and Cookeville, Tennessee. Apparently, people are most forgetful around Saturdays and Sundays between 11 p.m. and 1 a.m., and are specifically most forgetful on these days: January 1st, 2018 and October 29th, 2018 – New Year’s Day and Halloween. And, according to Uber, people are, “most likely to forget cakes on Sunday.” We’re guessing they’re bringing a cake to a party?

We hope they don’t leave their burrito in the backseat. That would be kinda smelly.

If you’ve ever forgotten your painting of an ice cream cone or your crab steamer (LOL) — as one does — you can hopefully get your stuff back by viewing this video.

Lots of crazy stuff happens in Ubers. Just look at this lovely tweet:

Here’s a tweet from a driver themselves! Tip: Don’t be a jerk in the backseat of an Uber.

And making your poor driver go to the drive-thru at McDonald’s?! Classy.

Apparently, this is a trend. Now someone made this poor guy go to the Panera drive-thru.

Sometimes your drivers get hungry! All that food can be enticing…

Uber really does make hungry dreams come true. Just read this tweet:

Uber Eats is a billion dollar business. Not hard to see why!

When you realize you’re more flush than you think you were and you order Uber Eats. Pretty fantastic.

Or you can be an Uber driver who delivers their own Uber Eats order. That’s pretty meta.

OR you can be a dog who uses Uber Eats. Honestly, our society probably isn’t too far off from the possibility.

You can hop into an Uber to get home while ordering an Uber Eats delivery. That’s the future.

Sometimes you run into your Uber Eats delivery driver over and over. Embarrassing or awesome?

Sometimes, getting into an Uber just means making a great human connection. Just don’t forget your boxes of Franzia!

The next time you get into an Uber, make sure you do a double-check for all of your things!

You’re gonna wish you hadn’t forgotten that 24-pack of Miller Lite and carton of ice cream!
