Katy Perry And Taylor Swift Officially Made Peace With This Random Dessert

Let’s be honest here. Celebrity feuds are a little exciting for all the fans. Sure, they might be petty and mean-spirited at times. But a little celeb drama spices up the week. Need we remind you of the Hilary Duff and Lindsay Lohan battle over Aaron Carter? That was headline news back in 2004. One of the biggest fights in recent years, though, involved Katy Perry and Taylor Swift. These huge music superstars were close friends years ago, but they suffered a massive falling out, and it didn’t seem like either woman wanted to keep the feud a secret.

Here’s the timeline: In 2009, they admitted to being fans of one another on social media and even took to the stage to sing together. That’s a big deal. Things, however, got a little rocky in 2014. Swift hired three dancers who previously worked for her songstress pal. Then, when Perry started up her tour, those dancers left Swift’s tour mid-run to help out Perry. As you can imagine, feelings were hurt.

Swift had no problems talking about the issue with Rolling Stone in 2014.

Sure, she didn’t refer to Perry by name, but when all of the pieces were put together… it was just obvious.

“She did something so horrible,” Swift claimed. “I was like, ‘Oh, we’re just straight-up enemies.’ And it wasn’t even about a guy! It had to do with business. She basically tried to sabotage an entire arena tour. She tried to hire a bunch of people out from under me.”

That wasn’t the end of Swift’s complaints.

The country-turned-pop star also said, “I’m surprisingly non-confrontational. You would not believe how much I hate conflict… So now I have to avoid her. It’s awkward, and I don’t like it.”

Perry retaliated. She posted on Twitter and hinted that Swift acted like Mean Girls character Regina George. Apparently, on The Late Late Show With James Corden, Perry also claimed her former friend was the one who actually started the fight.

But, the years progressed.

The two women found even more success in their careers, and they seemed to want a start fresh.

The first act of goodwill occurred in May of 2018.

Perry sent Swift a literal olive branch with a message, making it seem like the whole feud was one big miscommunication. Swift seemed thankful for the gesture.

Fans were impressed.

They thought Perry really stepped up and handled things like an adult — with dignity. The best part is that nobody completely knows what the singer put into the heartfelt note.

It was unclear if the singers hung out or chatted much since that moment, but everything changed in June 2019. Perry posted a beautiful arrangement of chocolate chip cookies on Instagram.

Why were those sweet treats special?

The cookies were on a plate that read, “peace at last.” Perry tagged Swift in the caption. Accordingly, Swift responded to the message with a ton of hearts.

So, can cookies bring people closer together?

Totally. Taylor Swift and Katy Perry just proved it.

It’s just nice to know that not all feuds have bad endings. Sometimes, people grow up and realize the important things in life.

The women may not be as close as they used to be.

But even if they aren’t the best of friends, they’re certainly no longer enemies. Maybe the singers can even go back to being fans of one another.

Some news outlets even think the cookies hint at a future music collaboration between the two stars. And if they write a song about making peace with your enemies, we’re here for it.

The whole feud was bad but not entirely futile.

It resulted in some truly great tunes. Swift’s song “Bad Blood” is reportedly about Perry, and Perry’s song “Swish” is reportedly about Swift.

Apparently, though, Perry tried to reach out sooner, but Swift wasn’t ready. She also noted on SiriusXM Morning Mash Up, “I think when women unite, the world is going to heal.”

It’s hard not to agree with Katy Perry.

These two women have some of the most influential voices in pop music.

If a duet or collaboration between them isn’t in the works, we can still celebrate the end of some woman-on-woman drama. Perhaps, we should indulge in a gigantic plate of chocolate chip cookies.
