Meghan Markle’s Favorite Dessert Is Not Dessert At All, And Our Eyebrows Are Raised

Meghan Markle

Even though the royal wedding is over, all eyes are still on Meghan Markle. The Suits actress-turned-Duchess of Sussex always looks fantastic, so fans are constantly curious about her latest diets, food hacks, and health secrets. She even dished about her favorite dessert, and it turns out to be something quite different from cake, cookies, and ice cream.

According to an interview she did with Delish, Markle listed wine as being her top dessert choice and one of her two big weaknesses (the other being French fries.) Specifically, she said that she’d pass up chocolate for a “big, beautiful red” — specifically Tignanello, which is noted as being the first Chianti red that doesn’t use white grapes during production. For those who know a lot about wine, it’s a blend of Sangiovese, Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. Sounds pretty delicious.

Even though Meghan has a favorite, she’s also open to sipping on Malbecs from Argentina, Pinot Noir that originates from Oregon, and French cabs. Of course, she’s all about pink wine when she’s out with her friends. “In the summer, though, when I’m out with my friends, it’s rosé all day,” she told Delish.

Knowing that she kicks back with some cheaper — yet still delicious — wine when out with friends makes Markle even more relatable.

In general, she seems to have a healthy attitude towards food. When she was filming, she was a bit more strict about what she ate. For example, she temporarily went gluten-free for awhile because it made her skin look better on camera. Still, she admits she uses food as a way to celebrate a break or vacation, just like most people. “When I’m traveling, I won’t miss an opportunity to try great pasta,” she admitted.

“I come back from vacation every year with a food baby, and I’ve named her Comida. I get to the set and I’m like, ‘Hey, Comida’s here, and she’s kicking.'”

I’d have a bowl of pasta and drink a large glass of red wine with Meghan Markle any day. Just call me, girl!
