It’s 2018. That means that by now, the phrase “new milk was invented” shouldn’t phase you. And if you have trouble sleeping, this news will be even cooler: A dairy product was created to help you catch more Zzz’s.

You might have heard that warm milk is often a popular, natural remedy used to fall asleep. But let’s be honest — it’s a method that seems to be a perfect fit for toddlers, kids, and grandparents. Perhaps it needs a bit of a rebranding to be fully accepted by the busy 20 and 30-somethings out there who feel like warming up milk at 11:30 at night is not only one more task they have to think about, but it just feels…well, childish.

A company called Sleep Well thought of the perfect solution. Their product is real milk, but with an additional add-in that’ll make it more effective and suited for that #adultlife — valerian root. Valerian root has been a supplement tied to sleep for quite some time. Personally, I used it in pill form back in my mid-20s, when I was up all night panicking about whether or not I made the right life choices. It wasn’t a cure-all, but it did help. (And for the record, my life ended up A-okay.)

The product is more than just dairy and supplements — the company adjusted the milk’s taste by also adding honey and vanilla.

If you do a little research, you might wonder why the company keeps boasting its use of “Jersey milk.” It’s not milk from New Jersey — instead, it’s from Jersey cows. It’s been proven to be more nutritious than the standard stuff. Jersey milk also has a higher amount of butterfat. The more you know, right?

While the signature Sleep Well product is a vanilla flavor, the company’s website says that chocolate is in the works — and in their words, it’s “perfect to heat up for a cup of special hot chocolate before bed.” Yum.

Is it worth giving a shot? If you’ve been fighting to get sleep on a nightly basis, it won’t hurt. You can try Sleep Well yourself by ordering through their website.

Is milk not really your jam? There are bunch of foods out there that are actually making us more tired — which is sometimes what we want. Check out the list of food here.
