Dulce de Leche Chocolate Turtles
Difficulty: Medium • 25 Servings • Total Time: 2 Hours
Ingredients:
1 can PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts
1 14-oz. can sweetened condensed milk
1 C dark chocolate, in pieces
Directions:
Bring a medium pot of water to a rolling boil. Transfer the sweetened condensed milk to a heat-proof vessel, and place uncovered directly in the pot. Be sure the water level is below the lip of the vessel so no water gets inside. Simmer, undisturbed, for about two hours, or until the milk has caramelized into dulce de leche.
Before the milk has fully caramelized, place the dark chocolate in a heat-proof bowl, and rest on top of the pot of boiling water, creating a double boiler. Whisk together until smooth and fully melted.
To assemble the turtles, spread a small dollop of the dulce de leche on a sheet of parchment. Next, use your PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts to create the features of the turtle, using an almond for its head and cashews for the legs. Top with a spoonful of the melted chocolate, followed by a pecan half for the turtle shell.
Repeat this process with remaining ingredients, then let harden.
Caramelized Honey + Nut Tart
Difficulty: Medium • 8 Servings • Total Time: 1 hour 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 can PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts
1/2 C honey
1/2 C sugar
1 tsp salt
½ C butter
4 Tbsp corn syrup
1/2 C heavy whipping cream
1 prepared pie crust
powdered sugar, for garnish
Directions:
Preheat the oven to 350ºF.
In a large saucepan over medium heat, bring the honey and 1 Tbsp water to a simmer. Then add the sugar, salt, butter, corn syrup, and heavy cream and bring to a boil, stirring often to prevent burning. Remove from heat once bubbling. Let cool for 10 minutes.
Pour the caramel into your can of PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts, replace the lid, and shake to fully coat the nuts in the caramel.
Pour the nut mixture into your prepared pie shell, and spread evenly. Bake for 20 minutes, or until set.
Let cool. Lightly dust with powdered sugar, then slice and enjoy!
Slice ‘n’ Bake Cookies
Difficulty: Easy • 10-15 Servings • Total Time: 20 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 can PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts
1 lb premade sugar cookie dough
½ C dark chocolate, melted
Directions:
Preheat oven to 375ºF.
Chop the PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts, and set aside.
On a clean surface, flatten the cookie dough into one solid sheet. Sprinkle ½ c of the chopped PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts on top, then fold up to incorporate the nuts into the dough. Roll into a log, wrap with plastic wrap, and place in the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes.
After chilling, remove the cookie dough from the fridge and slice into ½” thick discs.
Place the cookies on a lined baking sheet, and bake for 8-12 minutes.
Remove the cookies from the oven and transfer to a cooling rack.
Once cooled, dip the cookies in the melted chocolate, then roll in the remaining chopped PLANTERS® Deluxe Mixed Nuts. Let set before serving.
Milk + White Chocolate Nutty Fudge
Difficulty: Easy • 6-10 Servings • Total Time: 1 Hour
Ingredients:
1 can PLANTERS® Holiday Nut Crunch, divided
2 14-oz cans sweetened condensed milk
2 C milk chocolate candy melts
2 C white chocolate candy melts
1/2 tsp salt, divided
Directions:
In one saucepan, combine the milk chocolate candy melts, one can of sweetened condensed milk, and ¼ tsp salt. In another saucepan, combine the white chocolate candy melts, the other can, and remaining salt. Heat over medium, stirring occasionally until smooth.
Add ½ C of PLANTERS® Holiday Nut Crunch to each pan, and stir to combine.
Pour both mixtures into two separate lined baking sheets.
Chop ½ C of PLANTERS® Holiday Nut Crunch, and sprinkle on top of the fudges.
Place both pans in the fridge to chill.
Let fudge solidify, about 4 hours, then cut into squares for easy sharing.
Chocolate Peanut Butter Nut Bars
Difficulty: Easy • 8 Servings • Total Time: 90 Minutes
Ingredients:
1 can PLANTERS® Winter Spiced Mix, divided
8 graham crackers
1 C powdered sugar
½ C butter, melted
¾ C + 3 Tbsp peanut butter, melted, divided
2 C dark chocolate, melted
Directions:
In the bowl of a molcajete or in a food processor, grind together 1 C PLANTERS® Winter Spiced Mix and the graham crackers.
Once the mixture reaches a sandy texture, add the powdered sugar, melted butter, and ¾ C melted peanut butter. Stir to combine.
Transfer the nut mixture to a lined 8” x 8” baking dish and smooth into an even layer, filling the corners of the dish.
Pour the remaining 3 tbsp melted peanut butter into the dish, and spread to coat. Chill for about 15 minutes to let peanut butter harden slightly. This will ensure distinct layers in the bars.
Add the melted dark chocolate on top, and carefully spread to cover. Sprinkle ½ C PLANTERS® Winter Spiced Mix over the chocolate, then place into the fridge to set, around 90 minutes.
