8 Organization Tips That Will Change Your Kitchen

Our kitchens are the center of our homes. It is the center of our meals, cups of coffee, and family conversations. It’s essential to keep this area clean to fight bacteria from spreading to our food, smells from drifting into our living room, and help keep our sanity. No one wants to come home to a pile of dishes.

Here is the best way to get a jump start on organizing your kitchen:

1. Clear Your Counters

The first thing to prevent a cluttered kitchen is to keep the countertops clear.

2. Organize Your Refridgerator

Wipe down your whole fridge. Designate each shelf to different items.

3. Make Room for More

Just because you have open space, doesn’t mean you have to use it. The goal is to not totally fill every nook and cranny, but rather choose what is essential to your kitchen and home. Don’t be afraid of extra storage space.

4. Rearrange Your Drawers

Your drawers are so handy for filling with easy to grab items, but they are hard to keep organized. Empty the entire drawer and sort them (ex. baking items, grilling, and storage)…

5. Use Stackable Dishware

Calphalon Premier stackable pots and pans will help free up space in your cabinets. If you can’t totally convert your dishware at this time, try using shelving to keep pots and pans from taking up too much space in your pantry.

6. Add Command Hooks to Your Cabinets

Storing your smaller kitchenware like measuring spoons and mixer handles can take up room in drawers. Try adding a command hook to the inside of your cabinet to hang smaller kitchenware so it’s easy to find and out of the way!

7. Prioritize Your Cleaning Products

Which products are you less likely to pull from your cleaning cabinet? Place those towards the back oo underneath the products that you use more frequently. This will prolong the organization of your cleaning cabinet because you won’t be digging around trying to find products that you use more often.

8. Get Rid of Excess

Most of the stuff that is taking up room in our kitchen would have a better home in the dumpster.
