You know summer is coming when Oreo releases a fresh new flavor. This year, the cookie company is rereleasing an oldie that you may or may not think is a goodie. The Blueberry Pie Oreo is officially back on shelves, and did people really ask for this? Huh… okay.
Rumors that Blueberry Pie Oreos were going to be rereleased were confirmed when Instagram foodie @CandyHunting posted a photo of the cookie package on March 3oth. @CandyHunting also received a postcard from Oreo that read, “The people asked. We Listened. Blueberry Pie Oreo is back.”
Blueberry Pie Oreos were first launched in the summer of 2016. The sandwich cookies are made up of two graham cracker-flavored wafers and sharply-sweet blueberry crème. That sweetness and vibrant purple color is what turned many people off during the cookies’ first go around. Nevertheless, Oreo released Blueberry Pie again in 2017, and now they’re seemingly back for a third time.
“Man, am I the only one who didn’t like it? Maybe I have to try it again,” one Instagram user commented on @CandyHunting’s announcement. “No u were right these suck,” another responded. And another user added that they “hated” them.
Was there some sort of survey we could have filled out? We happily would have partaken.
To be fair, we weren’t huge fans of the Cotton Candy Oreos either… but we won’t argue. We’re honestly afraid to at this point.
Oreo fans are going down kicking and screaming. Name names, Oreo — who asked for Blueberry Pie?!
Wow. We think this sums the entire thing up.
“Blueberry pie Oreos... that’s not an Oreo, that’s a fucking tragedy” - @Hollywoodd____

“April Fools!! No, sadly Mondelez does not have plans to bring back Blueberry Pie Oreos,” the junk food Instagrammer wrote in an April 1st post. We can’t believe we fell for that.
@CandyHunting added that they had help conning their followers from those who had stockpiled packages of Blueberry Pie Oreos. “I’m sorry to those who will be upset by this news,” @CandyHunting wrote.
People are upset, furious, and utterly beside themselves.
We’re all going to have trust issues after this. *Runs, hides, never trusts again.*
All jokes aside, some followers were actually super angry that @CandyHunting pulled this prank. Let’s remind ourselves that it’s an Oreo flavor we’re upset about.
Listen, be as mad as you want. We’re just glad our taste buds are being saved from sweetness overload.
You’re cruel, @CandyHunting. But we’re also glad this Blueberry Pie Oreo news turned out to be a hoax — like, really glad.
