One of the great things about Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups is that you can think up so many interesting combinations for a simple product. All it is: chocolate-covered peanut butter. But Reese’s morphed their iconic peanut butter chocolates into eggs for Easter, trees for Christmas, and plenty of “Big Cup” varieties for the peanut butter lovers out there. And on occasion, the chocolate might change as well.
While it’s been rumored for a while, Dark Chocolate Reese’s Thins are a wonderful reality for the dark chocolate lovers out there. This new product, which is rumored to already be in stock at certain stores, takes a brand new spin on the classic design. They’re also slimmer than your standard cup, which may be a brand new texture sensation.
The new size will definitely be noticeable to Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup aficionados, as Hershey’s reported that the new product was a whopping 40% thinner than the original we all know and love. But, they also wanted to make sure that people knew this change wouldn’t hit all products.
“Never a replacement,” they wrote, according to Delish. “Just another option.”
That actually seems to be the entire message behind the promotional image they’ve released for the new product.
And, not going to lie — it’s pretty exciting to know that thin cups exist. Variety is, after all, the spice of life.
And, they’ve confirmed that they also come in milk chocolate. So, if you’re not big into dark, you can still try out the brand new candy design.
People are already trying to find them. Just know, it may be until March when they’re available everywhere.
Perfect! Now I won't feel badly about eating 26 of them instead of 18.

Others have been eagerly anticipating their arrival date since they were first announced a few months ago. Back then, nobody knew what the packaging would look like or what flavors they’d be available in.
Can’t wait to try REESE’S Thins 😋

Already know I’ll love ‘em #NotSorry
Perhaps if these are a success, Reese’s will try to make a white chocolate variety. They’ve already figured out the formula, so it shouldn’t be too hard.
Can you imagine how it’d take if they made their classic holiday varieties a little thinner? It’d be amazing to try a Reese’s Easter Thin. Because let’s be real. The peanut butter to chocolate ratio in most holiday Reese’s cups is just not quite right. The OG cup mastered the perfect amount of chocolate and peanut butter.
Or, maybe a thinner peanut butter pumpkin for Halloween. This one would also be great in dark chocolate.
Reese’s has made a lot of things possible by inventing this new shape. They might have been inspired by Oreo’s, who’ve had thin cookies since 2015.
Oreo has released certain flavors that were only available as a Thin. One of the most recent has been Pistachio.
Of course, Oreo has had a lot of fun with changing their sizes and fillings recently. While they have Thins, they’ve also just released “Most Stuf” which is their thickest cookie to date.
While more of a novelty, these are also a thing that exist in the world. (But, they should probably come with a warning label).
So, this new design can mean a lot of great things for Reese’s. And since everyone loves a peanut butter cup, that also means great things for us.
