Froot Loops Has A Whole New Look And Taste, And Trust Us, It’s Wild

We’ve been eating Froot Loops since we were kids in the ’90s (if we were lucky and our parents let us, of course). Froot Loops, which taste like a mixture of lime, lemon, cherry (Kellogg’s claims the cereal is just “Froot” flavored), have actually been around since 1963. In the ’90s, the brand infused the cereal with different colors, and then Kellogg’s introduce Froot Loops with marshmallows some time after that. These were the cereal‘s two major changes in the last 55 years. Until now. Kellogg’s has recently announced that they will release a brand new flavor this summer: Wild Berry. Wild Berry Froot Loops will be hitting shelves soon and we absolutely cannot wait!

While we all enjoy the sugary, fruity flavor of the original Froot Loops, berry sounds intriguing — and hey, sometimes switching things up is a good thing. Plus, we’re sure you’ll still be able to snag a box of OG Froot Loops at the grocery store if you can’t part ways with the classic flavor. The taste profile isn’t the only change, though. Kellogg’s is adding star shaped cereal to the O-shaped mix, and it’ll be purple (and berry flavored, obvs). Be prepared to say goodbye to the orange and yellow loops, though.

According to the company’s press release, the “New Kellogg’s Wild Berry Froot Loops delivers a wild new fruity taste experience that bursts from the box, no matter when or where it’s opened.” We. Cannot. Wait.

The writers over at the My Recipes had the pleasure of actually experiencing the new flavor and they reported that “The Wild Berry stars are fruity for sure, but it’s hard to decipher which berries are actually involved”. Although that might be worrisome, we have complete faith the Kellogg’s will deliver something delicious.
