If you love to bake, your ideal best friend is probably a KitchenAid mixer. This nifty appliance, after all, can mix batter, dough, and icing with a click of a button. It’s especially useful if you need to bake a cake as soon as possible, because if we’re being honest, some celebrations don’t feel complete without a cake or two. However, considering KitchenAid mixers aren’t exactly cheap, it’s easy to become fixated on scoring a used one for a better price. But is it possible for someone to take things too far? According to a text message conversation shared by Reddit user Zavarakatranemi, it most certainly is.
Zavarakatranemi was looking to sell their KitchenAid mixer and was contacted by a potential customer. So far, so good — right? Not quite. For starters, the person first contacted Zavarakatranemi at 4 a.m. When they didn’t receive an immediate response, they quickly followed up with multiple angry messages.
To make things even more confusing, the potential customer claimed that someone named Andrew — the brother of Zavarakatranemi — said they can have the mixer. But here’s the catch: Zavarakatranemi doesn’t have a brother named Andrew.
Additionally, when Zavarakatranemi refused to lower the price, the person said, “Are you going to let my family starve to save $100?!” Apparently, the person promised their kid a cake, and the mixer was needed ASAP.
Here’s to hoping the KitchenAid mixer found a new home — and that person’s kid got their cake.
