Lunchables Just Released Desserts, And Why Didn’t This Exist In The ’90s?!

Back when I was in elementary school, all the cool kids had Lunchables. I, on the other hand, got by with a bagged peanut butter and jelly. In order to cheer myself up, I had to remember that mine actually came with a note from my mom, telling me she loved me. It was a good pick-me-up, especially if the grape jelly leaked through the bread or the sandwich squished prior to lunchtime. Of course, later on in life, I gave Lunchables a shot. And well, I understood the hype.

There’s something about making your own cracker sandwich that’s oddly satisfying. Also, you could eat it any way you want. You could eat the meats separately, or just eat the cheese! With Lunchables, the world was yours.

While many Lunchables came with desserts, it was never anything to call home about. Usually, it was just a few mini Oreos or a single Crunch bar. Perhaps that’s why after all these years, the brand has unleashed a line of desserts that would brighten anyone’s day. And even better, one of the three looks a little like another nostalgic ’90s snack — Dunkaroos.

You remember Dunkaroos, right? They were yet another snack that allowed you to have full control. You could dainty dip, if you felt the need! (But nobody felt the need. Because that frosting was delicious and was meant to completely overpower your cookie dipper.)

Unfortunately, like with all good things, Dunkaroos left grocery store shelves. While Lunchables will never officially replace them in our hearts, their desserts really do look like they’re trying to pick up the pieces of your broken heart.

According to Bustle, Instagrammer ThreeSnackateers found the treats at Meijer’s, but like with all other Lunchables, you will likely be able to find them at all major grocery stores.

Cookie Dunks and Dirt Cake are just two of the flavors. They also have S’mores Dippers, because you don’t need a campfire to enjoy a chocolate and marshmallow combo. Even though S’more has a really cool graham cracker dipper, you’ve got to give it up to Dirt Cake. Never before have I thought to dip a gummy worm into anything until now. Lunchables just opened up my snacking options, and I don’t know how I’ll ever repay them.

However, it’s Cookie Dunks that look the most like Dunkaroos. So if you’re hoping to recreate the absolute perfect ’90s lunchtime moment, you might want to grab one. If you happen to eat them with some Lunchables round ham slices on the side, so be it.
