McDonald’s Brought Back Their Best Dessert Ever, But With A Twist

One of the best things about McDonald’s is that the company is constantly introducing us to new foods and menu items that are both delicious and exciting. One of the worst things about McDonald’s, though, is that they often introduce us to these amazing new foods, only to say that they are “limited-edition” or “seasonally exclusive” — so they won’t be available forever, but instead, for a limited time only. Is this an effective strategy in getting us to run out and buy all of these things while we can? Yes. But is it nice? No.

Sometimes, though, the fast food company decides to be generous and bring back a limited-time-only favorite that their customers really loved. This gives you yet another chance to get your hands on your exclusive favorite item, and it’s amazing. Sometimes, they go the extra mile, and make that item even better than it was the last time. Fortunately, that is exactly what is happening right now.

McDonald’s has brought back their best dessert ever, and they’ve given it a new twist.

We are extremely thrilled to announce that McDonald’s Donut Sticks are back. They’re back, and they’re better than ever.

This time, not only can you get crunchy, warm donuts in stick-form, but they come with something to make them taste even better. That would be a chocolate marshmallow dipping sauce, which actually sounds too good to be true.

In case you need a reminder, the Donut Sticks were first launched in February as a limited-time-only menu option. They are basically donuts coated in cinnamon sugar, and are really similar to little churros. They were a very big hit, and fans were devastated when they were taken off the menu.

On June 15th, McDonald’s tweeted something that made it seem like they were going to bring them back. And they delivered!

The new version with the sauce is, apparently, just as tasty as it sounds. In a review, Ian K from the review channel Peep This Out! took them on:

The video shows that the chocolate marshmallow dipping sauce comes in the same sauce container as the other sauces you’ll find at McDonald’s. They also come with the six Donut Sticks.

So, what’s Ian’s review? He starts by saying that these Donut Sticks seem smaller than the original Donut Sticks he reviewed when they first came out, but they’re still packed with cinnamon sugar.

He said the sauce is “very thick and very gooey,” and after a taste test, said, “semi sweet chocolate, a little bit of marshmallow coming through” for a “very nice mix.” We’re already drooling.

If you’ve ever had churros with chocolate and you were a fan, then you would definitely love these. Ian said they’re “very reminiscent” of that flavor, so that definitely doesn’t seem like a bad thing.

He added, “Why they didn’t do this in the very beginning, I don’t know.” Honestly, that is really something to think about.

Ian also added that the chocolate sauce is nice and thick, it’s sweet but not sweet enough, and it comes in the perfect portion size. However, he did say that they’re smaller than the first time and more French fry-sized, but they’re also denser. So, it evens out.

Back when McDonald’s first came out with their Donut Sticks, they were accused of copying the Donut Fries from Dunkin’. In fact, Dunkin’ even threw some shade at them on social media.

It looks like McDonald’s has found a way to make their Donut Sticks stand out even more, though. And honestly, we couldn’t be more excited about that.

It looks like the Donut Sticks with chocolate marshmallow dipping sauce are available now. We’re just not sure how long they’ll last, so be sure to grab them while you can.
