A Mint And Dark Chocolate-Flavored Kit Kat Bar Could Arrive This Winter

UPDATE (Wednesday, April 24th, 2019 at 10:59 a.m. PST): The rumors are true! According to a Kit-Kat press release, this new flavor will be a permanent addition launching December 2019. Yum.

Don’t kill us, but, winter is coming. We know, we know. Spring just got here, and thank goodness for that. But tbh, we have something to look forward to come winter 2019. A mint and dark chocolate-flavored Kit Kat could be hitting store shelves once the weather cools.

According to food Instagrammer @markie_devo, Kit Kat plans to drop Mint + Dark Chocolate Duos — a mint and dark chocolate version of our beloved Kit Kats.

The top will be glazed with minty goodness, whereas the bottom will be doused in dark chocolate. Of course, this entire mashup will be wrapped around the crispy wafer we’d die for.

“Although we have just passed minter [aka winter], it does not mean we can’t plan for [next winter],” @markie_devo wrote — perhaps meaning that it doesn’t mean we can’t plan for future candy drops. Which we totally can. “This is the upcoming @kitkat Duos. A mint & dark chocolate mixture with those wafers we oh so love. I do like me some mint in moderation and dark chocolate always. This will hit stores in December, just in time for minter.”

We’d like to petition to change winter to “minter” permanently. Thoughts? We think it would make the season so much more enjoyable.

According to Delish, Hershey’s has yet to confirm if the Duos rumors are true. But man, oh man, we are all praying that they do so sooner than later.

Um… this is a genius idea. Utterly genius.

It’s true. Japan has a leg up on us with their Green Tea, Strawberry Cheesecake, and Wasabi Kit Kats. But hey, we’ve gotta start somewhere.

Yeah, basically. But we have zero problem with that.

People on Twitter are freaking out, too. We are so ready for this to happen.

OMG. We —

The freak out is real. We can only yell-speak now.

It looks like mint Kit Kats already exist in several places around the world. These Mint 2 Ways Kit Kats from India look delectable.

“This has *just* the right amount of mint flavour to nicely compliment the wafer and chocolate combination,” one Instagram user said of the limited-edition release. “Mint as with all mint candy is the lasting flavour on the palate but it is not overpowering in this bar.”

Wait… We want a mint Kit Kat and Nutella chocolate cake. Gimme, gimme!

These Mint Cream & Cookie Smash Kit Kats from Australia also look divine. These look like classy Kit Kats for rich people.

And these mint Kit Kats have the mint flavoring on the inside. Amazing!

We suppose it was only a matter of time before Hershey’s brought the mint Kit Kat to the U.S. Thank goodness it’s finally happening.

Lol. This is seriously how we feel about these new Kit Kats:

Mark your calendars and wait patiently for December to arrive. We’ll be sure to update you if we find out more information about the Mint and Dark Chocolate Kit Kats.
