Remember back in the day when there was just one flavor of Oreo? I don’t either. Those were probably some pretty upsetting times. While Double Stuf will always hold a place in my heart, I love the adventurous side of Oreo that’s popped up in recent years. Oreo just proved again that they’re unstoppable, as they just announced five new flavors. And they may be the best yet.
The new flavors will be rolling out within the next six months. According to People, two of them — Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie and Pistachio Thins — will be on shelves permanently. As for the other three, you might want to stock up as soon as you see them at the grocery store, since they’ll only be around for a limited time. Those flavors are Good Humor Strawberry Shortcake, Peppermint Bark, and the one I’m most excited about — Rocky Road Trip. Call it a hunch, but I think Oreo found a little bit of inspiration in the ice cream aisle for these new cookie flavors.
The news was unveiled at Chicago’s Sweets and Snacks Expo. Junk food Instagrammer JunkBanter, who literally has the best job ever, was able to show his fans a sneak peek of what some of the new Oreo packages look like.
Back on Memorial Day, JunkBanter celebrated with a photo of another cookie that’s bound to entertain. It’s the Firework Oreo, and it’s actually been manufactured before, in May of 2017.
If this is the first you’ve heard of them, yes — they include Pop Rocks. And yes, it’s safe to enjoy them with soda.
Way to knock it out of the park this year, Oreo.
