Oreo Eggs Are Coming Back, And We’re Already Hunting For Them

According to our candy aisles, spring has officially sprung. Oreo has debuted a new Easter candy and we cannot wait to get our paws on the chocolatey goodness.

On February 13th, the @threesnackateers Instagram account posted a picture of the brand new Oreo Eggs. Sold in a 5-count box, each individually-wrapped egg sports a milk chocolate shell surrounding a cookies and creme filling. Think Cadbury Eggs, but Oreo.

Even though @threesnackateers met the Oreo Eggs in person at their local Walmart, the rest of us may have to do some Easter egg hunting. As Bustle reported, the Oreo Eggs are not yet listed on the Walmart site. Therefore, a phone call or visit to your local establishment is the only way to find out if these things exist near you. We would guess that Oreo Eggs will become less rare the closer we get to the Easter season.

“Check out these little Oreo cutie eggs. Spotted at Walmart!” @threesnackateers captioned their pic.

Now, even though the packaging is seemingly new, Oreo Eggs have been around for a few years. Before launching their own version, Oreo teamed up with Cadbury and Marabou to bring a version of Oreo Eggs to the U.K., Canada, and Europe.

One such Cadbury version was called the Egg ‘n’ Spoon, and actually came with a mini purple spoon. The chocolate shell and creme filling looks virtually the same.

And the Marabou version is essentially the same thing as the Egg ‘n’ Spoon. Which came first? Cadbury or Marabou?

But now it looks like Oreo is going solo with its egg venture. And people are into it.

Like, really into it. Wow.

We’re looking forward to giving these Oreo Eggs a go. They clearly have a fan following.

We hope you weren’t in too deep with those eating-related New Year’s resolutions. Those diets are about to go out the window.

Because let’s be honest, we just have to try anything Milk’s Favorite Cookie does. It’s only right.

If Oreo Eggs haven’t made it to your area yet, there are plenty more Oreo treats to try. In January, Oreo released their Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie cookies, which, according to Twitter, are freaking amazing.

What can we say? People are passionate about their Peanut Butter Pie Oreos.

The cookie giant brought back their S’Mores Oreos last month as well. Talk about a cult classic.

Although, everyone who loves them realizes that they should have been called S’moreos from the beginning. Oh well.

And we certainly hope you picked up a package of the limited-edition Love, Oreos for Valentine’s Day. Yeah, the “tangy” creme filling seemed a bit off-putting, but…

They supposedly tasted like Fruity Pebbles, according to @aeylita44 on Instagram. Odd, but worth a shot.

Of course, all of the above Oreo flavors (and all the rest) taste even better when they’re deep-fried. It’s just a fact.

Hunt for the Oreo Eggs wherever Easter candy is sold in your area. Or, you know, leave a wish list for the Easter Bunny.
