By now, you should know that Oreo is all about experimentation. There’s never just one or two flavors of Oreo lining the sides of the cookie aisle at the grocery store — there’s six or seven, minimum. Sometimes new varieties are created by fans. Other times, Oreo releases flavors that they feel properly fit the season. But this time, they’re choosing to welcome 2019 with a flavor that seems a bit odd for an Oreo. It probably won’t taste terrible (since none of them ever really do), but you might be hesitant to give it a shot.
Let’s just say, if the rumors are true, this might be the Oreo that’s best for your heart health. Dark chocolate Oreos will be making an appearance, and since you either love or hate the stuff, you’ll either be elated or perturbed. After all, Oreos have experimented with a lot of flavors — like Peppermint, Salted Caramel, Birthday Cake, and even Cherry Cola.
But usually, as far chocolate is concerned, you knew what to expect. After all, chocolate is one of the components that makes an Oreo an Oreo.
But the company knew what it was doing. According to Bustle, who heard it straight from Oreo, the new cookies contain a “Dark Chocolate flavored creme sandwiched between two classic OREO chocolate wafers.” So if you wouldyourself a chocoholic, this is right up your alley.
Here’s the other news — these Oreos are rumored to be around for a long time. Permanently, if all goes well. It’s rare for Oreo to hang onto a flavor for so long, meaning they probably have a ton of faith that these will be instant hits. Perhaps because some fans have literally dreamed about them before.
Had a typical dream last night, but more mad that the buying Dark chocolate Oreos wasn’t real. Everything else crazy shit, but the Oreos should happen. 🙂 happy Thursday I guess.

Who knows what’ll be next? Can you imagine a Dark Chocolate Double Stuf’? It already sounds like something a chocolate fan would get hooked on. Plus, you can’t deny a cookie with double the stuf.
If it’s taken you some time to really embrace dark chocolate, you’re not alone. Many of us were introduced to chocolate in milk chocolate form, thanks to companies like Hershey’s.

In 2013, they found that 46% of men age 55+ and 48% of women over age 55 prefer dark chocolate in comparison to both milk and white. They also found that the overall percentage of dark chocolate lovers was rising throughout the years. Maybe it’ll rise even faster thanks to Oreo.
Of course, before you make room in your pantry for this brand new flavor, you might want to double-check and make sure you’ve tried the one-of-a-kind holiday flavor that Oreo has unleashed this year. Unlike Dark Chocolate, these aren’t permanent additions to the line-up — and time is limited.
Since all Oreos are worth a try, it’s good to know that Oreo fans will have plenty of time to get hooked on their brand new Dark Chocolate Oreos. Maybe with time, they’ll even outperform Double Stuf. It’s unlikely, but hey — who knows what 2019 will bring.
