This Woman Went On A “Taco Cleanse” For A Week, And You Won’t Believe The Results

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably noticed that “cleanses” are all the rage right now. And while many of these cleanses do include healthy habits like limiting added sugar, some of them are downright crazy. For example, there’s the Lemonade Diet, which was popular in the 1970s and has somehow made a comeback.

There’s even an insane “Soy Sauce Cleanse” diet, for crying out loud.

(Don’t try this at home, kids.) But according to an article on Insider, one woman just tried a Taco Cleanse, and we are so here for it.

The Taco Cleanse involves eating nothing but vegan tacos for a week.

In the article, Paige Bennett of Insider shared her inspirational Taco Cleanse experience. Basically, she had to eat vegan tacos for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. So, to prepare for seven days of taco-filled goodness, she went grocery shopping the day before starting the cleanse. The tacos were to be made completely from scratch.

Heck, even the tortillas were homemade!

The Taco Cleanse is the brainchild of “vegan taco scientists” based in Austin, Texas. It’s based on their book, The Taco Cleanse: The Tortilla-Based Diet Proven to Change Your Life, which was released in 2015. They formulated the cleanse in response to the restrictive, not-so-fun nature of fad diets.

The Taco Cleanse also claims to help you enjoy life and conceive a child, but only if you’re trying to do so.

Oh, and if you don’t want to conceive? Don’t worry, because the Taco Cleanse will benefit your birth control of choice. This is magical stuff, you guys.

Plus, the Taco Cleanse claims that “your chakras will become realigned into an optimal taco pattern.”

The creators of the Taco Cleanse are clearly all about humor and having a good time.

So, we can totally see why Bennett wanted to try it out.

Tacos are pretty amazing, after all.

Since the Taco Cleanse involves homemade vegan taco recipes, Bennett was able to try new dishes.

According to her Insider article, she found the recipes to be delicious and simple.

One taco included roasted sweet potatoes, spicy black beans, and mango salsa. Yum!

However, by Day 4, she was a bit sick of eating tacos.

So, on Day 6, Bennett switched things up by using waffles as taco shells.

She also decided to buy vegan tacos at a local food event on Day 7.

So, did her chakras align into a taco pattern?

Bennett said she doesn’t know, but at the very least, she was able to spend time making new food.

Remember, the Taco Cleanse even includes recipes for homemade sauces and tortillas.

She also felt like she was able to learn some new cooking skills, which is always cool in our book.

Apparently, it seems like the vegan taco scientists were on to something.

And honesty, we’d be game to try it. Would you?

BRB, time to go start the Taco Cleanse!
