We love food and TV! So when our favorite television series introduces us to characters who love to cook, we take notice. They are the people we all wish we had in our life to make us our favorite dishes.
Here is our list of the definitive ranking of the all-time best TV chefs.
Ah, Benny Hammond, one of the nicest guys in Hawkins. Yes, his character was (very short-lived), but he was one of the first town members to help out Eleven and tried his best to find her help. Luckily, Chris Sullivan has moved onto This is Us and the show wouldn’t be the same without him, but we’ll always remember him as the thoughtful chef at 1419 Randolph Lane.
Who didn’t love the Swedish chef while watching The Muppet Show? Sure, he couldn’t really see because his hat covered his eyes, but we still love that he tried his best to cook up some recipes for Kermit and the gang.
Louis Huang is our favorite restaurant owner for his ranch- styled BBQ venture, Cattleman’s Ranch, supporting his family’s dream of living in Orlando, Florida. The show was based on the real-life story of Eddie Huang, who grew up to become a real chef and food personality. In 2011, he was voted Chow.com 13th most influential person in food.
Jack Tripper was the lovable roommate in Three’s Company and 70s heartthrob chef who cooked up laughs. RIP John Ritter, we miss your smile and your comedy side dishes.
We couldn’t leave off Seinfeld’s most hated (and loved) chef. Whether he is denying soup to Jerry or yelling like a sous chef, The Soup Nazi has spawned a fan culture including t-shirts, mugs, and memes for his beloved catchphrase, “No soup for you.”
Before she was playing Sean Spicer on SNL, Melissa McCarthy made her way into 00’s teen hearts through her Gilmore Girl character Sookie St. James, the prize of the Dragonfly Inn. Sookie was the best friend we all wanted to make us desserts, soups, and chocolate chip cookies. Although she disappeared towards the end of the series, her triumphant return to Stars Hollow in the Netflix reunion was just what we needed.
YOU SAW THIS COMING. Monica Gellar takes the top spot for our favorite TV chef because her talent, passion for food, and love of friends make us wish we all had a Monica in our group. From waitress at a 50s theme diner, to personal chef, to becoming head chef, Monica’s journey into her career was inspiring.
