Kim Kardashian Posted About “Maximizing Fat Loss” And Twitter Is Losing Its Mind

As we all know, Kim Kardashian has never been the kind of celebrity who is subtle about her quest to lose weight. The Kardashian sisters regularly post videos of themselves working out with their personal trainers, Kim is always discussing the latest diet she’s on (she loves anything low-carb, like Atkins), and the reality TV star and beauty mogul has spoken openly about her body image issues in the past. Still, that doesn’t make some of Kim’s declarations any less disturbing, and many of the things she has said about her dieting have rubbed fans the wrong way. Her latest tweet seems to be pushing the limit yet again: Kim posted about “maximizing fat loss,” and Twitter is pretty much losing it.

The tweet in question is a photo of Kim in a pink bikini, looking tan and happy, standing in front of the turquoise waters of a beach. The picture alone would have been fine! But the caption below it is what has fans furious. It simply says, “How I maximize fat loss,” with a link to her website which presumably is loaded with tips on how she “loses fat” quickly. The same image and caption were also spotted on her Snapchat.

While the initial tweet might not seem like a huge deal, it comes on the heels of another controversial social media post from the star. A few weeks, Kim posted an ad for appetizer-suppressing lollipops on her Instagram feed, leading to a lot of anger from people who felt she was setting a bad example. While Kim ended up removing the caption about how great the lollipops were, she did leave the image up:

So, Kim’s tweet about maximizing “fat loss” was probably the last straw for a lot of people who wish such a public figure was more body-positive. It certainly seems that way, as reactions rolled in:

This definitely isn’t the first time Kim has gotten negative feedback on her body image and dieting posts. Fans have previously criticized her decision to promote “skinny teas” (the teas essentially act as a laxative) on Instagram and many felt her supposed “liquid diet” before the Met Gala was unhealthy.

The issue isn’t that Kim is on a diet or that she’s trying to lose weight, because everyone has the right to do that if that’s what they want to do. It’s not even that she’s talking about being a diet — it’s the way she’s going about it and the language that she’s using. Many of Kim’s fans feel that she could be more body positive. We’ll see if this latest controversy changes anything.
