There Is Another New Emoji, And We Can Already See It Being Really Annoying

When a new emoji pops up, it’s reason to celebrate. Usually by, well, sending that emoji a billion times to your best friend. But with this new emoji, that act might end up with your buddy sending an ambulance your way. Simply put, the emoji is a face that looks a bit incoherent.

It’s actually kind of great to have another way to communicate the feeling of “hello, I’m drunk right now.” If you’re in a packed club, it’s a good way to alert friends that you might need additional backup. Also, it’s a good way to subtly tell each other that so-and-so might have had a few pre-game drinks prior to going out, so they might be a bit more… exaggerated than normal.

It’s always important to drink responsibly with friends you trust, so adding a tipsy face isn’t the worst idea.

However, when you see what the face looks like, you might change your mind. Why? Well, because even after your fourth shot, you’ve probably never looked the way this emoji looks. If you did, it’d actually be kind of impressive. It’s almost laughably bad. Once you make direct eye contact with it, it’s nothing short of terrifying.

In a way, with that sly wink, it resembles someone unpleasant who is trying to flirt after a few too many. And much like that individual, you may try to avoid them at all costs.

While it’s not titled “Drunk Face,” it’s painfully obvious that this is what they were going for. Instead, it’s called “Woozy Face,” after initially going into production as “Face With Uneven Eyes and Wavy Mouth.” Don’t even try mimicking the mouth in front of a mirror, as you’ll be pretty disappointed. Mouth muscles just aren’t meant to move that way.

Maybe with time, “Woozy Face” will be improved to look a bit less creepy. One can only hope.
