No Luck With Dating Apps? This Will Help

How’s your dating life? Dating apps are proving to be very consistent with bridging love connections. Are you active on dating apps but the service isn’t rewarding for you? Don’t be ashamed. This has nothing to do with you personally (considering that you’re not a creep). The problem could be your choice of words in your profile. Apparently, a study has found that mentioning certain food items in your profile and the first message will increase your chance of getting messages and possible dates.

When using a dating app, the profile is the first impression. This is crucial for any relationship with someone. Messages on dating apps are the only form of communication and the deciding factor if a date will happen. Zoosk, an online dating service, did a study on dating app interactions and discovered that food mentions will increase chances of a date.

By examining 3,733,185 dating profiles, 364,609,566 initial messages, and surveying 7,000 singles, Zoosk found a correlation of an increase in romantic interactions when several food items are mentioned. This is primarily in the context of a biography or message. Here is a list of the food results Zoosk found and the percentage of increase.

Guacamole 144%                              Potatoes     101%

Chocolate   100%                              Salad            97%

Sushi            93%                               Avocado       91%

Pasta            75%                               Cheese         75%

Cake             72%                               Burger           68%

Banana         66%                              Biscuit           64%

Ice cream      62%                             Fries              61%

Seafood         61%                             Sandwich      55%

Steak            51%                               Junk food      50%

Pizza             48%                             Hot dog         41%

Sausage       30%                              Eggplant       25%

Taco              24%                             Ribs              20%

Bbq               17%                              Burrito           17%

Pho                6%                               Noodles         3%

This study from Zoosk also found users mentioning being a foodie in their profile resulted in an 82% increase in incoming messages than someone who didn’t. Those that mentioned the word ‘cook’ increased their incoming messages by 26%. I guess food is the way to hearts.

If you are a vegan or vegetarian your outlook on incoming responses are looking good also. Zoosk found that if a user states they are vegetarian in a dating profile their incoming messages are 52% higher than others. If vegan is stated the incoming messages increase by 62%.

Zoosk’s findings are not a guarantee of a love connection. But, it could assist with how you utilize dating apps. If this still doesn’t help, maybe you should get back to the old fashion way. Getting dressed up, hanging at bars, and winking at everyone you think could possibly be your soulmate.
