This Video Of A Kid Trying Cocoa Powder Has Gone Viral, And We Cannot. Stop. Giggling.

Even though viral videos are typically hot for a short period of time, the good ones are remembered forever. Remember Chocolate Rain? And the Double Rainbow Guy? Cocoa Powder Kid might end up with the same company if this video continues to be shared.

So, okay. Nobody should blame him, really. If you see a tub with a Hershey’s logo on it, you probably expect powdered candy bars to be inside. But, that’s not the case with cocoa powder. Cocoa powder is used in baking, and if you’ve been curious enough to taste it before, you know it’s not very good on its own.

Still,  kids sometimes need to learn that lesson themselves. In the video, a young boy asks his mom for some cocoa powder. “I keep telling you, it’s going to be gross,” the mom tells him.

The boy tries some of the powder out for himself. He expects one thing and gets something totally different. Just look at his eyes after he shovels in a spoonful — they say more than words could ever say. You can watch the video all over the place — Facebook, YouTube, Twitter, Instagram (and more), so it’s unclear how many times this video has been viewed. Right now for this particular tweet, it’s garnered 2.57 million views, over 103,000 likes and just over 43,000 retweets. See for yourself:

But, that’s not even the best part. The best part is when the boy, defeated, coughs. A cloud of cocoa powder comes out! We cannot. Get. Over. The. Cocoa. Puffs. The little boy looks totally repulsed and saddened by his life choices.

It’s rough to have this revelation on camera for everyone to see, but hopefully he’ll laugh at it someday. Y’know, when the taste of cocoa powder is out of his mouth for good.
