Caramelized Pear & Chocolate Crumble

    Preheat the oven to 430F / 220C.

    Melt the granulated sugar with 1 tsp water in a large skillet over medium heat – 2 minutes.

    Add the diced pears. Cook for about 5 minutes or until the pears have a nice brown color, stirring occasionally. Cut the vanilla bean lengthwise, scrape the seeds out and stir in the pear mixture. Set aside.

    Place the flour, hazelnut flour and brown sugar in a large bowl.

  • 5.

    Cut the butter into the dry ingredients using your fingertips until crumbly.

  • 6.

    Place a handful of chocolate chips in the bottom of a baking dish (or small individual ones).

  • 7.

    Top with the fruit mixture. Sprinkle with the remaining chocolate chips.

  • 8.

    Scatter the crumble mixture evenly on top.

  • 9.

    Bake 10 minutes in the preheated oven or until the top is nicely browned.

  • 10.

    Serve warm with a side of ice cream!
