Ever since Kensington Palace announced Meghan Markle’s pregnancy back in October, the general public (you know, all of us non-royals) have been dying to know any information we can get our hands on about the next royal baby. And who can blame us? Markle and Prince Harry are sure to have an absolutely adorable child, and while there’s little to no chance that the baby will ever be king or queen, or even have a title (a boy would be known as Earl of Dumbarton, while a girl would be a Lady), they’re still going to be a member of the royal family! With Prince Harry as their dad! And Markle as their mom!
As we get further into April, Markle’s due date is creeping closer, and everyone is getting more excited. Kensington Palace has not shared the exact due date with the public, but we do know she’s expected to give birth sometime in the spring of 2019, with many experts believing it will be a day in April. The little babe could be born any day now. And it seems like Markle already has a pretty good idea of how she wants to raise this baby… if we can count on these reports being true.

According to Woman’s Day, a palace insider has revealed that Markle wants to raise her baby to be vegan. But they’ve also revealed that the Queen is, well, less than thrilled.
A source told Woman’s Day, “The Queen won’t have it. It’s created tense discussions between Meghan and Harry, who doesn’t want to upset his grandmother. He’s hoping Meghan will settle once the baby comes and he’s putting this latest polarizing idea down to heightened emotions while being pregnant.”
Yikes. It seems like this is one fight that’s pretty awkward.
Markle has previously stated that she follows a plant-based diet during the week for health reasons, stating, “I try to eat vegan during the week and then have a little bit more flexibility with what I dig into on the weekends.” It’s supposedly a habit she has passed on to Prince Harry, so it wouldn’t be surprising if she wanted her baby to follow that as well.
It’s their child and they can raise him/her as they please.

Still, a lot of people don’t believe the news is true at all. It’s possible that it’s not, but who knows?

A palace insider told Radar Online, “Meghan is set to bring her child into the world at the vegan-friendly, new-age Mulberry Suite at Frimley Park Hospital near the royal couple’s new home, Frogmore Cottage. The luxury suite has a birthing pool, king-sized bed, and full vegan menu. It’s made-to-order for Meghan!”
Supposedly, Markle’s “friend” told People that she’s only using natural cleaning supplies and eating natural foods, saying, “She eats cleaner, and she’ll probably make her own baby food. It’s going to be clean living for this baby.” And hey, that’s not a bad thing.
According to Vanity Fair, the couple wants to use vegan paint infused with eucalyptus oil to decorate, they plan on installing childproof windows, and they want a £50,000 energy-efficient boiler. Markle also reportedly wants a modern design with a lot of light.
And really, that’s all we could want for her.
Whether she truly raises the baby as vegan or not, we’re sure the Queen is going to be thrilled with her newest great-grandchild. Let the countdown to the birth begin!
