Meghan Markle & Prince Harry Announced They’re Pregnant — And It Explains SO Much About Last Week’s Wedding Outfit

Our favorite royal couple (sorry Kate and William), Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have announced that they’re expecting a baby! Literally ALL. THE. SQUEE.

“Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are very pleased to announce that The Duchess of Sussex is expecting a baby in the Spring of 2019,” the Kensington Palace officially stated. While they didn’t give an official date, and we’ve yet to see a baby bump, we’re guessing February-March, given that expecting parents usually wait three months to announce a pregnancy.

The Kensington Palace added, “Their Royal Highnesses have appreciate all of the support they have received from people around the world since their wedding in May and are delighted to be able to share this happy news with the public.”

According to a source via People.com, “Meghan has had her 12-week scan and is feeling well.” This also aids our theory that Markle is three months into her pregnancy.

Having children has always been something Prince Harry and Markle both wanted. Prince Harry told BBC News that, “Hopefully we’ll start a family in the near future” in November 2017, after it was announced to the world that these two beautiful humans were engaged.

Everyone is obviously super happy about this, including the So Yummy editorial team. We can’t wait to see what recipes we can whip out of Markle’s pregnancy cravings (girl has great taste in food, what can we say?). Markle’s mother already publicly announced that she is “very happy about this lovely news and she looks forward to welcoming her first grandchild.”

And honestly this news explains why Markle wore something loose-fitting (instead of her signature body-hugging dresses) to Princess Eugenie’s wedding.

It *is* a bit chilly out, given that it’s October, but she could have unbuttoned her coat to show off her wedding fashion. I’m just sayin’.

Even People.com notes that the Duchess has been wearing baggier clothes than normal. The publication also stated that she’s been holding props (flowers, her clutch) in front of her belly on royal outings.
