Yesterday, February 5th, Kate Middleton paid a visit to the Lavender Primary School for Children’s Mental Health Week run by her charity, Place2Be. There, the Duchess of Cambridge learned how food can affect children’s mental and physical well being. While talking to the students at Lavender, Middleton revealed what treats her two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, like to indulge in. And just like most kids, George and Charlotte love a good “cheesy pasta.”
“Charlotte loves olives,” Middleton told the kids according to People. She also said that George and Charlotte usually help her make her famous cheesy pasta recipe. Let’s just pause on this for second: does Middleton REALLY think we believe her when she says her CHILD like OLIVES? Have you ever met a child who loves olives? We know Charlotte is royalty and all, but come on. It’s pretty much a fact (Editor’s note: it’s not, really) that olives are an acquired taste. Only as an adult do you learn that olives are delicious and really appreciate them. End rant, let’s continue.
“She was telling us how much her children love cooking and how they cook for her,” said Matthew Kleiner-Mann, chief executive of the Ivy Learning Trust. “They made cheesy pasta the other day. One stirs the flour, one puts the milk and butter in. And they make salads and stuff.”
Middleton had brought a picture of her family to show the students during a show-and-tell activity for which the kids were told to bring items that made them feel good.
“This is a photograph of my family. These are my children and this is my husband. And my family makes me feel happy,” Kate said during the activity.

Or, do they like the homemade stuff better? Nothing beats homemade mac and cheese fresh out of the pot.
Or, do the royal kids opt for rigatoni or penne? These are important questions, people.
Honestly, we’ll take any kind of cheesy pasta you put in front of us. Being cheesy noodle fans themselves, we have a feeling Princess Charlotte and Prince George are probably the same way.
We guess we’ll have to save our questions for the next time Middleton visits our neck of the woods.
Middleton wasn’t the only royal to talk food this week. Meghan Markle visited One25 in Bristol, a charity that helps women “break free from street sex work, addiction and other life-controlling issues,” via emotional support. There, she wrote empowering messages on bananas for the women.
Imagine receiving a secret banana message from the Duchess of Sussex. We wouldn’t want to eat it!
