12 Royal-Themed Recipe Ideas For Your Royal Wedding Viewing Party

There are only a few days left before Meghan Markle marries Prince Harry and I. CAN’T. EVEN. This past weekend, the royal wedding came up and my family and I discussed for HOURS. Hours! Like, how?! We chatted about things like the family tree, what the family can and cannot wear, and the television show that Ms. Markle starred in (Suits, if you haven’t heard).

If you are anything like me and my friends, you might be throwing a viewing party for the wedding. Homegirl is from the States, so, yeah, I’m going to be cheering her on the whole time. Get it, girl! Some dreams really do come true (I’m not crying, YOU’RE CRYING).

If you’re throwing a party of your own, I put a list together to help you out with what you can serve to your fellow commoners. You have to ask yourself, “What would the Queen eat?” and follow that logic. If it’s good enough for Her Royal Highness, then it’s good enough for the rest of us!

Just when you thought you were ready for the royal wedding, we hit you with this! Sha-Pow! Here are the 12 royal-themed foods for your royal wedding viewing party.

1. Crown Cupcakes

A princess never leaves her house without her crown. And neither will your guests!

2. American Flag Pie

Paying homage to Meghan Markle’s roots, celebrate the day with an American flag pie! (If you want to take it up an extra patriotic notch, bake an apple pie!)

3. Lemon Flower Tart

Since it was revealed that the happy couple’s wedding cake would be covered in real edible flowers, why not try to make your own?

4. Strawberries and Cream

What’s more British than enjoying a nice cup of tea? Maybe if you turn it into a dessert! Ah. I love weddings.

5. Fruit Platter

Did you invite some health nuts to your viewing party? Keep them happy with a fruit and cheese platter in the shape of the American flag. God Bless the U.S.A.!

6. Bling Ring Cookies

All the single ladies! Now put your hands up! Cause these might be the only rings (like these) you’ll come close to this year. I’m just kidding! They’re just super cute.

7. Red White, and Blue Sangria

Stripes never looked so good.

8. Poutine

You can’t throw a royal wedding viewing party without chowing down on Meghan’s favorite food: poutine! A girl who loves fries? Harry is one lucky guy.

9. Some English Flair Cupcakes

More sweets? Yes, please! Get your fancy on with some edible dessert toppers for your cutest cupcakes. ‘Ello, love! I’ll take twenty!

10. Crispy Bacon

Well, if we included Meghan’s favorite, I guess we have to share Harry’s! The boy loves his crispy bacon! And I’m not about to argue with this one.

11. Lemon Elderflower Soda

If you’re not sold on this flavor, which is what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle chose for their wedding cake, try it out in a soda pop first. And tell us what you think!

12. Banana Ice Cream

Ending this list is a shared favorite of the happy couple. Anything banana!!!

What will you be serving this weekend?
