New Year, New Reason To Stop Using Plastic Straws

2018 was the year of rallying against plastic straws. Obviously, most plastic product waste ends up in landfills and is bad for the environment. But this year, people were especially against using plastic straws from restaurants. While it definitely helps to do your part in keeping our planet clean, using those recyclable paper straws can be gross and even inaccessible.

In the fight against plastic straws, it might seem easiest to just never use a straw again. That was my first thought — I don’t need an urgent straw replacement (until it turned out that I really did need something else). I didn’t realize how difficult it was to stop using straws. With them, I drink so much more water, which has always been super hard for me. And I seriously hate using paper straws, since they get so soggy.

For 2019, I definitely want to be more environmentally conscious of the products I use, and straws are at the forefront of my mind. Someone suggested I look into reusable straws — that’s when I found Strawesome’s Reusable Straw Starter Kit. It includes a straw cleaner, dedicated smoothie straw, and two everyday straws.
