This Is The Only Product That Made Me Feel Confident When Hosting My First Party

Parties are exhausting. As an introvert who feels most herself when reading a book in bed, it takes a lot of mental energy for me to gear myself up for a social event. Even as a kid, I’d sneak away at family gatherings (even if my family was hosting — oops!) to finish a chapter or to cuddle with nearby pets in whatever area of the house was least crowded.

Plot twist: After years of avoiding parties that require me to pretend to be an extrovert, I had to host my own party. Well, I didn’t have to. I wanted to — even though it caused the angel and devil on my shoulders to argue. It was the end of summer and my partner wanted to celebrate with a party for our friends. He was so excited that I ended up agreeing to the idea (I’m a sucker for enthusiasm). The next thing I know, I’m creating a cheese platter and planning drinks and thinking up group activities while stress-sweating.

It was around this time that I encountered a bit of luck. The So Yummy team was developing products for our store and I noticed that we have a copper mixologist set with matching glasses on the lineup. I saw an opportunity and asked if I could test out the items for my party. They agreed! Woo! (And phew!)

You can buy the mixologist set here and the matching glasses set here.

So Yummy

Let me start out by saying that I have no idea how to mix drinks, but my partner does! Using the set, he showed me some tips and tricks until I began to feel confident in my mixing and shaking.

This ended up being the key to my party confidence.

So Yummy

There is no better feeling in the world than knowing what you’re doing — especially if it gives you something to do when you’re feeling anxious. Using my handy-dandy copper set, I felt like a bonafide bartender as I mixed up mojitos, martinis, mules, and more for my friends. Since I’m not much of a drinker, I also made some virgin cocktails for those of us who didn’t want to partake in our alcohol selection. (The non-alcoholic peach Bellini I made was so good, if I do say so myself!)

Our $69.98 copper mixologist set comes with a mixing glass, muddler, strainer, and jigger. As for our $25.98 copper rim crystal coupe set, it comes with two glasses, which me and my partner drank out of to look like #FancyHosts.

You can buy them here and here, respectively.

So Yummy

Next time I host an event, you better believe I’m busting out this set. Because not only does it look cool — it also makes you feel like a cool and confident cocktail maker. (And again, it will give you something to do if you have a lot of nervous energy.)
